Fall fashion has always felt like a reset button. The temperature is cool, the leaves spin and once again you feel happy when you suddenly get dressed. I love my refreshing summer staples, but nothing is more exciting than reaching for a jacket, knit or jean that brings texture and warmth to my wardrobe. And the best part? You don’t have to spend a lot of money to look stylish. This season is full of affordable fall fashion discoveries offering high styles without a high price tag.
When it comes to building both versatile and fresh wardrobes, I focus on some important pieces that can be worked overtime. Think about it: denim that starts from day to night, blazers that will elevate even the simplest basics, and cozy knits you will repeat. Add shoes, bags and accessories that bring it all together, and there are capsules of essentials that look much more luxurious than the price.

20 affordable autumn fashion essentials for under $200
First off, I share 20 fall wardrobe staples that I’ve been paying attention to this season. That’s under $200. From the perfect thick sweaters to reusable boots, these are affordable pieces to shop now and style throughout the season.
Levis XL Buggy Straight Women’s Jeans
The best thing your fall wardrobe needs is a good pair of jeans. The fit is relaxed, but it is installed all the right way, and I feel that the straight legs are still polished. Perfect with a slim turtleneck or an oversized knit. This is a classic of this season.
Madewell Essential Curve Shoulder Bag
Say hello during the suede season. This Hobo bag from Madewell is an affordable autumn option. I love the suede look, but due to the fragile nature of the material I always hesitate to splurge on it. I’m grateful that this bag is still very high quality, but you can take it anywhere. (Durable!) Big enough to hold everything you need on a fall day – Includes extra layers – This bag is a must.
Dolce Vita Tiggy Loafers Mahogany Suede
Thicker loafers were all the rage last fall, but we expect a more refined, slimmer look to be popular in autumn 2025. This pair of Dolce Vitas is at the top of my affordable fall fashion list.
Abercrombie Classic Suit Blazer
If you know me, you know that oversized blazers are my go-to outfit at any time of the year, especially during the fall. I always feel my cuteness, wearing a pair of work jeans and loafers, or an oversized blazer with shorts and knee-high boots to get out. Chocolate brown is my favorite autumn colour and I can’t wait to get this blazer from Abercrombie.
Reform Becker Shirt
The crisp button downs are always stylish, but this fall I lean against a silhouette that feels high and chic. Reformation Reforming’s Becker shirt has an easy slimming look. It’s the kind of work that you throw in relaxed pants or denim and read quiet luxury without trying too hard.
Madewell Cashmere V-neck sweater
Stripes are having a big moment this fall, and this cashmere sweater checks every box in a cozy height style. The V-neckline gives it a slightly leaning forward and easy feel, while the stripes make it infinitely versatile. It’s the kind of piece you’ll reach over and over – whether you’re layering it over the tee and style your solo with your favorite denim.
Beartrist wrench coat
The temperatures are cool in autumn, but in many parts of the country it’s not cold yet for a full-fledged court. Input: trench. Thin enough to keep you warm and warm enough to not freeze, the trench coat is the perfect autumn jacket. If the full-length look isn’t for you, there are still plenty of cropped versions that do the trick.
Reformed Avery Knit Top
This top has all the details of these small designs that make the fall dressing intentionally feel. The crops are well displayed as they make the tee and jeans look high and are perfect for layering them under an oversized blazer or pairing them with skyscraper pants.
Sam Edelman Page Ankle Boots
The pointy toes had their moment last fall and I’m calling it now. This pair of Sam Edelmans balances the perfect modern and classic. It features a structured silhouette that adds instant polish to any look. They are like boots that you wear repeatedly, from tailored pants to straight leg denim.
It often escapes inside a silky pleated maxi dress
The best kind of autumn wardrobes are those that can easily float between warm days and cool nights. The flowing silhouette and subtle sheen give it a sense of height, but the lightweight fabric is perfect for layering thick knits and cropped jackets. It’s the definition of a throw and go dress that makes you feel like you’re still putting.
Petite moment phoenix belt with disc studs
Like I said, I’m excited to be creative with my belt this fall in styling. This kite is at the top of my list. Wearing in jeans, over a dress on the waist, and even on a blazer, the belt can change clothes. I love the dark brown and gold combo, but if it suits your style and vibe, it’s also black and silver.
Levi’s vintage overalls
White denim overalls were on my summer wardrobe essential list, so of course, Levi, inspired by these vintages, had to make my fall wardrobe favorites. These overalls are layered over the perfect white tee with a cardigan over their shoulders, but they fit comfortably in the autumn style.
Madewell Denim Trapeze jacket
One of the most basic, but most difficult to get right, the fall wardrobe essential is the denim jacket. I’m sure almost all of us have it in our closet, but we’re actually hooked on what we have. I love denim jackets with a slightly more interesting shape than classic fits. This jacket is just that.
Target Women’s Slim Fit Short Sleeve Trimmed Ribbed T-Shirt
A good cropped tee is one of the basic basics I always spin, and this slim fit ribbed version is a complete stolen. The fit is very flattering, hugging in all the right places, and the ribbed texture gives it enough structure to feel high. Layer it under an open button-down or pair it with a high-rise denim and a chunky cardigan for a simple autumn uniform.
GAP HIGH RISE Barrel Jeans
If you want to switch denim this fall, barrel jeans are the silhouettes you should try. This high-rise pair from the gap has the right amount of construction and ease, giving it a relaxed, pulled feel. Pair it with a slim tee or crop knit to balance the shape. They’re an easy way to look stylish without trying too hard.
Quince 100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Crew Seater
Speaking of fit sweaters, if you want to invest in cashmere in the fall, make sure to use this fisherman crew. Suitable for the perfect weights and layers, we guarantee that this sweater will be the base for everything in your cozy autumn.
Organic cotton shaker sticker cardigan well heaven
The white cardigan is undoubtedly one of the most important fall wardrobe staples. It can be opened and closed to suit everything, and is comfortable and chic at the same time. I currently love this cardigan from Haven. It hits just under the waistband of my jeans and keeps me at the perfect temperature. If white is not yours, this fit comes in many other colors.
Aritzia Easy pants
Previously only an office staple, but the black pants are one of my favorite pieces to revisit when autumn rolls. I love that they can dress up their heels and blouses with tees and sneakers, and Aritzia’s easy pants make both feel comfortable. Available in a variety of lengths and colors, the perfect pair exists for us all.
Claire V. Baseball Cap
This baseball cap from Claire V is the perfect carefree accessory to surpass your fall looks. The soft, worn texture and simple silhouette make it feel easy, while the embroidered details add a correct touch of personality. Both the colour and fit are clear “oui” for me.
Heaven Mayhem Ribbed Gold Earrings
Every turtleneck needs a statement to fit it, and heavenly mayhem is the best home. In the season when necklaces and bracelets are often hidden, this is the perfect time to invest in earrings. This vintage-inspired gold ribbed pair will earn you tribute wherever you go, matching every outfit you create this fall.
