Has anyone seen this show? fierce rivalry?I’m just kidding. It’s peak season for indoor activities, including binge-watching TV and watching movies (and ice hockey). We love chatting about our favorite shows, old and new, so we thought we’d share some of our readers’ fun comments about TV…

About family viewing:

“Our whole family loves family feud With Steve Harvey. I don’t have cable at home, so when I travel, I’m always like, “I can watch it.” family feud!!!’ Last year we visited my husband’s family and they weren’t. family feud That’s what people thought. One night I turned it on and slowly, like moths to a fire, the whole house came over one by one until we all piled on the couch together and literally cried with laughter. ” — Susannah

“When I was a kid, whenever my dad worked late, my mom would make my sister and me ‘TV tea’ and we’d stay up and watch the show. TV tea always had the same four ingredients: potato chips, a few pieces of chocolate, and half a banana. , Jelly Tots gummy candies. I always ate each one in a specific order. It was such an important ritual that my mom told my husband about it so he could make me a TV tea now.” — Mags

“I’m watching i love lucy Every morning when I’m getting ready. I grew up watching it and my whole family has watched each episode a million times. We live far apart now, but if this show comes on when we’re together, I’ll stop what I’m doing and watch it. It’s a feel-good family tradition. When I watch this movie alone in the morning, I feel like I can incorporate them into my daily life even when they are not there. ” — Jessica

Regarding the relationship with the characters:

“My boyfriend and I saw it friend During the pandemic, he said Monica helped him understand me better. To be honest, she also helps me understand myself. There’s an expectation that women should apologize for their goals or for being “a pain in the ass,” but we love that Monica is unapologetically herself. ” — Shanti

“My family and friends always compare me to ‘old man’ characters on TV shows. Especially the TV show dads. frasier; From Nick new girl; and from Gene bob’s burger. I once took a psychology quiz to guess which fictional character you were, and the top three were Gandalf, Dumbledore, and the old man from the movie. jurassic park. I’m a young brown woman, but I definitely give off an older white male energy. ” — Amanda

“What’s gorgeous and confusing is that even though I was attracted to a lot of male characters when I was young (Josh Hartnett from ‘Newsies’ and ‘Pearl Harbor’), I also knew from a young age that I was a lesbian. I didn’t know how I found out. , just that I was, and that I still like Josh Hartnett. Decades later, I realized that I was attracted to masculinity, not men. And now I have a sexy wife who looks a lot like Josh Hartnett in the movie “His Pearl Harbor days. ” — Sarah

“I’m Gomez.” addams family — Whimsical, cute in striped clothes, devoted to his wife. If Sally Hansen didn’t shave every three weeks, I probably could even grow a mustache like him. ” — Chiara

In the feel-good show:

“I saw it again Stopping development When I was going through postpartum depression/anxiety. I revisited it again when my mother passed away. The show’s familiarity helps you cope, especially when you’re in a dark place. Plus, even if you cry most of the time, you’ll still understand the story. And that ridiculousness helps me not take life too seriously. ” — Kat

“our flag means death This is the weird pirate romantic comedy I never knew I needed. If fun shows about Blackbeard falling in love with other pirates became mainstream TV, the world would be moving in a better direction — at least in some ways. ” — Stacey

“Cooking shows are my go-to. It’s so comforting to see someone talking about dough and whipping. There’s enough drama in real life that I like TV shows that don’t have any drama at all.” — LL

above guilty Secret fun:

“I replaced ‘sinful pleasures’ with ‘secret pleasures,’ and it did me the world of good. Not everyone in the world can understand us! And enjoy those moments when your compatriots at the dinner party whisper, ‘Oh, I just finished watching that too. What do you think?’ ” – Catherine

Last weekend’s SNL skit made us laugh

Do you have any TV habits or favorite shows that you would like to share?

PS Eric Kim says the nine movies and shows with gay characters were meaningful to him. Also, what is your “rabbit show”?
