After such a fierce cold winter, spring is soon here. In other words, it’s time to visit the city for unrelaxed fun. Below is a list of some of the events you absolutely need to check out.
Flower Factory Party A colorful queer dance party will be held at Zebbie’s Garden on Sunday, March 16th. Baltimore-based DJ Sweet Spot (aka Chris & Andre) will perform. If you like pop music, pop culture and queer icons all, then you like their set. They produce a queer dance party, also known as sweet spots in Baltimore, and have a monthly residency on the DC ticket trade for $10, and details are available at the Flower Factory Instagram.
gay men chorus in Washington DC It will perform at Lincoln Theatre on Saturday, March 15th at 8pm as part of the Lincoln Theatre “Passport.” The group travels around the world with songs and celebrates the diversity of culture and identity in the name of pride. The show will feature GMCW along with a small ensemble Potomac Fever, Rock Creek Singer, Season of Love, and a Genout Youth Chorus and 17th Street Dance. Art with Tosca “Queri Icons & Trail Blazers: World Pride DC 2025 Art Tour” will be held at the Smithsonian American Museum of Art on Sunday, May 18th at 2pm. Art historian and licensed tour guide Tosca Laggieli leads an unforgettable quest for LGBTQ history, identity and artistic expression at Smithsonian American museums and National Portrait Gallery. Expect to celebrate the vibrant history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community through compelling portraits and groundbreaking works that highlight the power of queer artistry. Allumé Entertainment Group Xclusive We will host “Men Only Weekend” at an unpublished location on Friday, April 11th at 8pm. There will be “Guys & Gaymes” on Friday. This includes Spade Tournaments, UNOs and more. On Saturdays there will be “Deep Stroke SIP ‘n’ Paint.” In this event, Presale tickets take priority over door tickets. Buying through the doors risks not being able to attend as there is a limited number of seats based on the number of art supplies. This is an indoor event and ticket sales are final (refundable only if the event is cancelled). Tips are encouraged and this event is more than 21 events with a valid ID. Sky Marinda We will host “Femme Art Market” in the coupe on Saturday, March 22nd. A dozen local manufacturers gather together to celebrate and enjoy Spring Equinox, Women’s History Month. Caged bird production “Gay Soul Food” will be held over the weekend, starting at the Anacostia Arts Center at 7pm on Friday, March 14th. Guests are encouraged to celebrate their special dedication to their mothers, grandmothers and aunts who unconditionally love their LGBTQ+ families. Howard Theater We will host Electric Feels: Indie Rock + Indie Dance Party on Saturday, March 29th at 10:30pm. This is an experiential dance party featuring all your favourite indie rock + indie dance songs all night long, including great DJs, stage productions and more. 9:30 Club We will host “Gimme Gimme Disco – ABBA-Inspired Dance Party” on Friday, April 11th at 9pm. This plays a lot of disco hits from the 70s and 80s, along with the DJ dance party, where they play all of their favorite ABBA tracks. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased at the 9:30 club Website.
Upcycle Creative Reuse Center We will host “Art Therapy: Neurographic Drawing,” which begins with a short meditation at 7pm on Wednesday, March 19th. Using markers and upcycle inks, we follow intuition and work through emotions. This workshop is open to people over the age of 8. Tickets are available for purchase for $20 EventBrite.
Pancakes & Booze Art Show I will be in Washington, DC on Thursday, April 10th at 7pm at Hook Hall. This is one of the biggest pop-up art moves that have hit North America in the last decade. Guests are encouraged to celebrate the group’s 10th year, offering free pancakes and showcasing some of the nation’s leading emerging artists. There are over 750 pieces, free “All Cane Eat Pancakes”, live audio performances from local DJs and music producers, and local artists displaying live body painting and art. Women + Fest Returning to Rehoboth Beach from April 10th to 13th, the weekend is packed with events that include golf tournaments, art receptions, pickleball tournaments, literary pop-up bookstores and more. The headlining on Friday night is stable with Gwen Lalaka at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Centre. Colonel Grese Kammermeyer will speak at the Sands Hotel Ballroom on Saturday morning at 9:30am. Saturday’s dance party features a girls’ room and DJ Peggy Castle. There is a range of ticket options available at Camprehoboth.org.
