About 17 years ago, facebook I reluctantly joined because it was new and a bit intriguing, but then I received a friend request from a guy I went to high school with. Actually, we weren’t close, we barely knew each other, but he lived in Los Angeles, was gay, and had come out. And we bonded over it over a few short messages.
He seemed happy, in love, and living his truth. Then a heartbreaking tragedy occurred when his partner died by suicide and shortly thereafter he too.
Even though I wasn’t close enough to him to grieve, his death still stuck with me because he seemed so well. What I remember most is that his Facebook page was full of photos with him. cheryl hinds.
They looked like they were really having fun, which made me love her even more. i already adored her curb your enthusiasmwhere she managed to perfectly complement Larry David’s gross mess, but knowing she was a kind and loyal friend to her classmates made her even more endearing.
And now, all these years later, that same Cheryl Hines feels almost unrecognizable. Because this week, she endured what may be the most unpleasant book tour in Hollywood history. It was a public parade of reckoning over her marriage to her husband. My brain was eaten by worms Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr..

above The ViewHines found herself sparring with the hosts over her husband’s dangerous and bizarre health policies. It wasn’t a fun conversation, it was more like an interrogation. They grilled her about whether she agreed with his anti-vaccine positions and all his outlandish conspiracy theories.
It was excruciating to watch that segment where she has a sense of herself and yet tries to appear like a loving wife to a madman. She forced a smile on her face and tried to deflect by claiming she was “herself,” but I’m sorry, is it just hard for me to accept that she can be Sheryl Hines without being corrupted by RFK Jr.? Sounds like fantasy.
I think The ViewMy host thought the same way. Oh, that’s BS!
Then came Tig Notaro. The talented comic, actress, and longtime friend revealed that she has “unfriended” Hines, both literally and figuratively. Mr. Notaro, who is quite serious, said he could not reconcile marrying Mr. Hines with his own values. In Hollywood, coming forward was like placing moral responsibility on Hynes.
As the old saying goes, or maybe I just came up with it, you know the curtain has fallen when the comedian starts walking away.

If that’s not enough, journalist olivia nuzzi She’s about to make a literary bomb with her upcoming memoir, american thoThis will reportedly include sexually accusatory messages from RFK Jr. and sordid details about his marriage to Hines.
This will undoubtedly prove that no matter how hard Hines tries, she cannot escape the inexplicable and vile exploitation of her unstable husband.

Meanwhile, in Hines’ memoir, No script, Instead of the triumphant confession that accompanies the book’s release, Ms. Hines will stir up questions about why she continues to stand by her husband.
Especially when the world sees her chained to a man who so defies science, truth, reason, logic, and conscience.
But before the book’s release, she revealed that the bug only ate part of RFK Jr.’s brain, saying:Don’t worry.“Um, okay, but we’re worried. I mean, we’re really worried.
Predictably, liberal Hollywood is turning cold on the unpredictability of Mr. Hines’ marriage to the new heir of right-wing extremist Mr. Kennedy. According to reports, her old friend driftingher circle shrinks. The same industry that once cheered her sunny optimism opposite Larry David is now admiring her behind the scenes and asking, “How did you get her?”
Really!
Here you can’t help but see life imitating art. above curb your enthusiasmCheryl’s character eventually divorces Larry, fed up with his constant aggression and social insensitivity. Also, sorry, I love Larry, but I don’t brad pittbut I never understood how Cheryl could marry someone, so, well, let’s just say it’s disgusting.
Divorce felt inevitable in this series. And now in real life we see the same woman living out an even worse version of that plotline. Instead of Larry David’s comic irony, she’s actually married to a man whose policies could harm millions of people.
And Kennedy is really creepy (I didn’t know that was actually a word!).
And if I’m trying to justify Hines’ idea, there may be another reason why she persists in marriage. Many of our generation grew up with dreams of becoming a member of the esteemed Kennedy family. The luster of that dream faded as generations expanded and the Camelot generation disappeared. Sen. Ted Kennedy’s first wife, Joanne, died last week, making her the last of that proud generation.
But despite bearing his iconic father’s name, RFK Jr. has been largely ostracized by the Kennedy clan.
I’m not a marriage expert. I wrote a book this year about couples who fought for marriage equality, and if I had to give any advice it would be simple. Run, Cheryl, run as fast as you can while you can save face.

Because when (not if) next time A massive public health crisis strikesand if Kennedy’s reckless leadership crippled the nation’s response and made everyone sick, he would become one of the most hated men in America. Of course, Donald Trump will always remain the most despised, but RFK Jr. is right behind him and Sheryl will inevitably be dragged into the same hole.

That’s too sad. The Cheryl I once saw in my deceased friend’s Facebook photos was kind, caring, and accepting, but she deserves better than to be collateral damage to her husband’s delusions and intrigues.
This week has felt more foreboding than any time since Kennedy took office. Shrugs, eye rolls, and polite questions are turning into “enough is enough.” I stopped laughing. The walls are closing in.
This is what I think. She will wait for her memoir to hit the bestseller list next month before taking action. She plans to ride all the controversy and gossip to make money and then cut ties with her brainworm husband.
If that’s the plan, she’ll take a one-way flight to a country with money, her integrity, and smart, functioning health care.
Because the only thing that can save Cheryl Hines at this point is to finally curb her enthusiasm for Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
