Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that Yoko Ono, widow of Beatles bandmate John Lennon, once told him she thought Lennon “might have been gay”.

“I said, ‘I’m not sure.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so. Certainly not when I knew him. ‘Because we were in the ’60s. We were with a lot of girls. And I witnessed him jacking off a lot of girls in action,” he shared.

“And I used to sleep with John a lot and there was nothing. No gestures, no facial expressions. There was nothing. So there was no reason to believe this at all.”

Despite his reluctance to believe Ono’s theory, McCartney admitted that he had heard rumors about John Lennon’s sexuality. Her relationship with the Beatles’ manager Brian Epstein, who was gay, was the subject of speculation and became the premise of a 1992 film. time and timeabout an actual trip the two took to Spain.

“Personally, I didn’t think anything was happening. I certainly hadn’t heard of anything happening. But I was thinking, ‘Do I want to do business with the Beatles? I’m the leader.'”

She added: “When he was killed earlier this year, he said to me, ‘I could have done it, but I can’t, because I’ve never met anyone so attractive.’ Both John and I were interested in attractive things – beauty.”

John Lennon and Yoko Ono met in 1966, married in 1969, and remained together until Lennon’s death in 1980. John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman outside his home in Manhattan.
