British Olympic champion Tom Daly has become known worldwide for more than his diving talent. His knitting needles are attracting almost as much attention as his gold medal. Since starting knitting in 2020, Daily has transformed what began as a mindfulness practice into creative outlets, fashion lines, charity projects and now crafts worthy of display. Some of Daily’s best knitting moments are when he combines sports, style and self-expression through yarn.

1. Paris 2024 Olympic sweaters reveal
Just 5 days of the Paris Games in 2024, Daily He has announced the latest news Olympic inspired work: “Paris 24”, a hand-edited blue sweater embroidered with Union Jack, French flag, his surname. He added thoughtful details, including a “TD” monogram on one sleeve and a fifth place on the other, to represent his fifth Olympics appearance. Fans flooded his Instagram with praise, celebrating the complexity and emotions behind the work.


2. It’s going viral in Tokyo
The Daily became a global sensation at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021) when the cameras were filming by knitting poolsides between dives. An outstanding project? A white cardigan with an Olympic ring and “Team GB” sewn onto the back. This unexpected moment of calm in the competition has affected millions of people and helped in the craft fight for men and young people.

3. Brettmanlock chicken sweater
In July 2024, Daley presented social media star Bretman Rock with a custom muscle tea sweater featuring Rock’s beloved chicken, Priscilla. The sweater includes a 3D beak and photographed Priscilla’s signature hairstyle. Rock calls the sweater one of his “favorites” and Daily commented “Priscirada Bad Destroy” and refers to Rock’s podcast Dabaddest Radio.

4. Knit Medal Koji
Daily not only made sweaters, but also embraced a cozy atmosphere for the Olympic medal. After acquiring teammate Noah Williams and Silver in a cycling 10m platform event in Paris, he hinted at another comfort midway. Practice has become symbolic. It wraps up a hard-earned medal with the warmth of handmade items.

5. Knitting for Charity with “Make with Love”
Daily launched his brand Made with love by Tom Daley To encourage others to pick up crafts and raise funds for charity. One outstanding project was the rainbow sweater pattern published on Lovecrafts.com, along with proceeds supporting brain tumor charity. He wrote his own patterns, reusing the remaining threads, and documenting each step for the fans.

6. Museum exhibition in Tokyo
Hosted by the Parco Museum in Tokyo in November 2024 Made with love by Tom Daleypresents some of the diver’s most iconic knitting projects, including his Olympic sweater. Daily taught live knitting classes at the opening, sharing her journey from beginners to public advocates for crafts. “Knitting is an important part of my life and that’s what calms me down,” he told British Magazine. 7. The collaboration between the TV competition and the woolmark in knitting
After resigning from professional diving in 2024, Daily signed on to host the UK’s first televised knitting competition and became the Woolmark ambassador. He helped launch a line of merino wool knitting kits It’s made with love, Wool is described as “designed to have a generation with the perfect fiber for high quality clothing and household items.”

8. Scarf that started it all
Daily first learned to knit during her trip to Canada in March 2020. His first project – made of low-one big wool in his favorite purple shade, his mother’s scarf received trial, error and support from divers and coaches. “It started so badly,” Daly recalls, “But I was very struggling with the end result.

9. Willie Warmer… And of course, he said he would make “a Willie Warmer for everyone.” In a post on Instagram, Daley announced a new line to the world, saying, “We are excited to launch the official #madewithlovewillywarmer.”

From Olympic medals to merino wool kits, Tom Daily’s knitting journey proves that creative expression is unlimited. Whether you create cardigans on the stand or give the chickens a couture moment, the Daily continues to sew into both sports and queer cultural history. One sweater at a time.
