A Manhattan ju judge found three men guilty of paralyzing two gay bar users as part of an elaborate robbery plot, leading to their deaths.

Three men, Jayqwan Hamilton, 37, Jacob Barroso, 32, and Robert Demaio, 36, were also convicted of robbery and conspiracy in a drug scheme.

Prosecutors claim the trio, along with other accomplices, are hiding outside a Manhattan bar near closing time, hoping to encounter drunken patrons after a night of drinking.


After chatting with the victim, the man drugs the medicine in a cocktail covered with fentanyl and waits until he becomes incapacitated. The man then stole the victim’s wallet, used facial recognition technology on his smartphone to access a bank account, and then ran out of money. They used these funds and victims’ credit cards to purchase a variety of items, including liquor, sneakers, designer clothing and accessories.

Men can face anywhere from 25 years of life in prison.

“We know that families who have lost loved ones still suffer from so much pain. We hope that this verdict will provide at least some comfort,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said. said in a statement after the conviction was found.
