In the case of tide waves Anti-Trans Can cleaning America, in part, track the injured pride of the world’s wealthiest people?
Elon Musk– CEOs of Tesla, SpaceX, and X (formerly Twitter) – not just a public figure. He is the power of culture, capital and controversy. But behind his carefully crafted, rebellious persona of genius is a quiet, personal story. It tells the story of a child who transitioned, took a new name, and cut off his connection with his father.
Musk’s daughtera transgender woman filed legal documents in 2022 to change her name and gender identity. She offered an unmistakable wish: she “didn’t want to be involved anymore.” [her father] In other words, she rejected not only his name, but his brand, his ideology, and perhaps the most painful, Olympian quest for patronage approval.
Soon afterwards, Musk began using his platform and wallet to show hostility towards the trans community. He posted ocky comments about pronouns, amplifying far-right accounts known for targeting trans people, and boosting $250 million to GOP candidates and causes.
This raises a horrible question The extraordinary vitriol we are directed at trans people– Are trans young people in particular fueled by ideology and disguised concerns, and fueled by the private grievances of the world’s wealthiest man?
Consider the impact that such donors exercise. Mask money funded legislative efforts to ban gender-affirming care, limit educational content, police bathrooms, and strip legal protections from already vulnerable segments of the population. His contributions empowered candidates who thrived on cultural wedge issues, and the trans community quickly became a favourite target. We monitor the state’s moves to criminalize doctors, isolate families, and erase the existence of trans from public life.
For what? To win the election? How to integrate power? Or to resolve your personal score.
At the highest level of wealth, taxation becomes optional and electricity becomes addictive. The wealthiest Americans often have equal expectations as wealth. A level of quality that will pass perfectly. And the ultimate word authority rarely challenged. However, the response can be ferocious if that authority is challenged, especially by the autonomy of the declarant that it relies on.
This does not suggest that anti-trans movements have begun Elon Musk. I didn’t do that. However, his story exemplifies a greater truth. Personal grievances can rapidly transfer to public policy when combined with immeasurable economic and political capital.
What does that mean if the pain of an estranged father helped bankroll the suffering of thousands of children like him?
We often ask ourselves how we came here. Trans Community It has now been portrayed as a threat to the Republic. The answer may be as human as it gets in the way: people hurt people. If the injured person is a billionaire, the damage can be transferred to the systemic oppression of the disenfranchised.
We can no longer afford to treat this wave of cruelty as the normal course and flow of politics. It’s darker, more intimate and very dangerous. World history is forced to recognize this as to what it is. The retelled stories are morally forgotten.
If private revenge is allowed to decide public policy, then no one is safe.
