Some politicians are seeking such action, but the US Department of Justice has planned to investigate the situation, and the professor has not been fired, but has not been fired.

Macaulu has faced student disputes over gender and sexuality debates in children’s literature class. Students whose names were not publicly known were not convinced that it was legal to teach McCall about the topic. Donald Trump’s executive order is because he recognizes that only male and female gender are assigned at birth, threatening federal funds to agencies that accept what his administration calls “gender ideology.” The exchange was recorded on a cell phone video and posted to X by Rep. Brian Harrison, a Republican of Texas.

The student also claimed that two or more genders oppose her religious beliefs and many other beliefs. McCowl responded that although the student has the right to her beliefs, “under the misconception that what I am saying is illegal.” The professor added, “My gender is not illegal.” (It’s not clear whether McCoul is trans or cisgender.) McCoul said she has the right to teach and expertise on the subject, and she has the right to leave if the student is uncomfortable in the class.

Harrison said, “Catch-on Tape: Texas A&M students were kicked out of their class after opposing the indoctrination of transgender…and President A&M defends “LGBTQ research.” ”

Texas A&M President Mark Wales said on Monday night, “I learned that the major leaders of the Arts College approved a plan to continue teaching course content that does not match the published description of the course. As a result, I have directed that the dean and department heads be removed from management. I will allow them to teach a variety of course content from those advertised. Students must adhere to the language to students and the state of Texas.”

It is not clear whether the dean or department head will continue to be employed at universities other than these managerial positions. They were not named in the Welsh statement, but the Texas A&M website listing Mark Zoran As dean of the University of Arts and Sciences Emily Johansen As Head of the English Department.

Harrison also shared a record of allegedly opposed to Wales, with the president not being fired, and McCool was fired. LGBTQ+ Research is important for students who want to be “psychiatrist” or “school supervisor.” ” Texas scorecard Report. “There is a professional reason to teach some of these courses,” Wales said.

Glen Heger, prime minister of the Texas A&M System, which oversees the main campus of Texas A&M and 11 other universities, issued a less supportive statement. “It’s unacceptable that Texas A&M System faculty will push for personal political agendas,” said Hegger, a former Texas Senator and Republican.

He continues that faculty should not engage in “indoctrination,” and he said the professor was notified that he “did not follow clear instructions to align the course description with the course material.” He said, “I will work with the Board to ensure that the A&M system is undergoing disciplinary action to ensure that it does not happen again on any of our campuses.”

Harrison has investigated Texas A&M with the Trump administration and asked Gov. Greg Abbott to “lay off any relevant A&M officials and instruct all public university regents to immediately end all DEI and LGBTQ indoctrination.”

Abbott praised Wales’s dean and department heads for his actions, saying McCall should also be fired. Harrison responded to Abbott’s X-Post saying Wales should also be fired.

Hermet Dillon, the Justice Department’s Attorney General for Civil Rights, commented on X, saying “this is deeply concerning,” the DOJ will investigate.

The Texas chapter of the American Association of University Professors has expressed concern about political pressure on academia. “The academic freedom supported by Texas A&M refers to the rights of instructors to teach in specialist areas without government interference,” the organization published in X.

A recent AAUP survey found that about a quarter of Texas professors have applied for jobs in other states, with plans for another quarter. It’s all due to an increase in political interference in their lessons.
