stranger things 5 is finally here, and it comes with a new coupling that fans are hailing as “perfect.”
caveat! Spoiler alert stranger things 5 1 volume.
The fifth and final series of the hit sci-fi show arrives in the UK today (Thursday 27th November), with Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour, Winona Ryder and the rest of the cast returning to save the world one last time (we hope).
Only the first four episodes are available to watch (the next three will be released on Christmas Day/Boxing Day, and the finale will be released on New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day, depending on where you are in the world!), but it’s packed with action, plot twists, and surprises.
And fans of the show are loving the new relationships that have developed over the course of the new episodes, where we haven’t seen much interaction before.
Season 5 will further develop Will’s (Noah Schnapp) homosexuality after he first expressed feelings for Mike (Finn Wolfhard) in Season 4.
First, Will admires Robin (Maya Hawke) kissing his girlfriend Vicky (Amybeth McNulty). Later, during a mission, Robin hints that she met Will, although she doesn’t seem to fully confide in anyone.
“[Vicky’s] Friends, we are friends, good friends. But the problem is, some people may not understand our friendship,” Robin explains, asking Will to keep this a secret.
As far as we’ve seen on the show, Robin only came out to Steve (Joe Keery) in season 3.

The two bond further in episode 4, and in yet another mission Robin seems to sense Will’s feelings for Mike.
She then uses a personal story to comfort Will about accepting himself instead of “looking for answers in others.” “I had all the answers, but I just had to stop being scared. I was scared of who I really was. Once I did that, I felt so free.”
It’s a sweet moment between two queer characters, with the older gently guiding the younger towards acceptance and self-love.
Fans have been flooding to social media to celebrate this new queer pair.
“This development of Will and Robin from Stranger Things is perfect. Amazing how they make such a cute couple,” one person wrote on X/Twitter.
“I really love Will and Robin’s supernatural stories.” I wrote something else while someone else was typing, “Will and Robin were the stars of this season. Long live the gays.”
Another said: “I love the combination of Will and Robin.” Another wrote, “That scene with Robin and Will made me roll my eyes,” perhaps referring to the final scene mentioned above.
And referring to the end of the fourth episode where Will shows off some powers that have been teased for a while, one person wrote, “I loved how Will unlocked his powers by embracing his sexuality. It was so cool and I loved how Robin helped him.”
Schnapp previously spoke about how Will’s sexuality will affect the new season.
“Seeing how the world has accepted Will and embraced him has made me feel, over the years, that it’s okay to be who I am and how I express myself,” Schnapp said of art imitating life.
