Contains spoilers for Season 4, Episode 11, “Leap of Faith.”

The castle doors were closed, the torches were extinguished, and the final vote was to be taken. But for Rob Roush, Eric Nam, and Maura Higgins, the real conversation began after the traitor’s surveillance cameras went off.

Season 4’s penultimate episode, “Leap of Faith,” provided one of the most talked about reality TV endings of the year. The alliance collapsed. The hypothesis has been solved. And by the time the truth came out, emotions were running high.

Now, the trio is speaking candidly about what happened and where their relationship stands today.

fallout in the castle

Throughout the season, trust served as currency. Roush developed strong bonds with Nam and Higgins over the course of the game. Those connections were central to the final stages, with suspicion hanging over nearly every conversation.

As the episode draws to a close, both Nam and Higgins are faced with a reality they never expected. The revelation instantly changed the atmosphere. What had previously felt solid suddenly became fragile.

For viewers, it was fascinating television. For the players, it was personal, if strategic.

Eric Nam: “It took a day or two”

Nam openly talked about needing a beat to process everything.

In an interview with our weekly magazinethe singer admitted that the experience stayed with her even after filming ended. He described the pain of realizing that someone he had trusted had ultimately made a different decision.

Still, prospects quickly emerged.

“At the end of the day, it’s a game,” Nam said, explaining that he and Rausch maintain a good relationship. He said a short message from Rausch after production ended helped clear the air. It wasn’t dramatic. It was simple and very unique.

Nam said they are now friends and intend to remain that way. He also admitted that if he could do the final stretch over again, he might approach it more cautiously. Rausch had built a deep trust throughout the castle, which complicated the challenge to him. Still, Nam believes that hindsight always sharpens instincts.

Maura Higgins: No hard feelings

Higgins experienced the finale in real time, and the moment arrived with visible shock. This revelation was especially difficult to capture on camera because she maintained her faith in Rausch to the end.

But outside of the show’s pressure cooker, she chooses not to hold onto grudges.

“To me, that’s not reality. He was singled out as a traitor,” Higgins said. our weekly magazine. She emphasized that this format requires secrecy from those assigned the role. Expecting complete transparency may not be realistic in a competition built on secrecy, she suggested.

Rather than channeling his frustrations outward, Higgins turned his frustrations inward. She said she could only blame herself for misreading the situation.

That doesn’t mean she won’t pay some playful reparations. Ms. Higgins joked that Ms. Rausch promised to make up for it with a Birkin handbag. It remains to be seen whether that extravagant peace plan will emerge, but the comments suggested that tensions have eased.

Rob Rausch: “Bittersweet”

Rausch doesn’t shy away from the complexity of the ending.

talk to GQhe described the final moments as more bizarre than celebratory. When I achieved my goal, I didn’t immediately feel euphoric. The weight of the decision remained.

“I didn’t feel happy right away,” he said, characterizing the experience as bittersweet.

Rausch also defended his choice. From his perspective, the purpose was clear. It’s about moving forward as much as possible within the rules of the format. Emotional attachments, while real, cannot override your strategy.

He claims Nam and Higgins remain close. Competitiveness remained within the castle, he suggests, while friendship continued beyond it.

Life after the game

Some of the things preserved traitors What’s compelling is the blurred line between performance and reliability. The contestants forge genuine bonds while overcoming their doubts. Once the show ends, they must reconcile both.

The season 4 finale emphasized that tension. Decisions made under pressure may seem ruthless on screen, but feel rational within the framework of the game.

Now that the finale has aired, the trio seems focused on moving forward. There are no social media fights or long silences. Instead, there are interviews, observations, and the occasional handbag joke.

The Season 4 finale and Traitors Reunion is streaming on Peacock.
