To Celebrate the Ultimate: Queen Arab Season 2, Netflix and Frameline took over the first women’s sports bar in sci-fi for a reality TV, Pride Magic and community atmosphere.

Netflix brought drama and community to San Francisco’s Castro area this week. Ultimate: Quirky Rab Season 2 is Rikki’s, the city’s first women’s sports bar. The event, co-hosted with the Frameline Film Festival, is home to TV fans of free bites, some surprises, and a kind of chaotic and bizarre romance reality.

And yes – from Lexi Goldberg Ultimate: Quirky Rab Season 1 appeared as guests, showing their love for the new cast and local community.

“We are a women’s sports bar and queer women cannot be separated from women’s sports,” said Daniel Toh, co-owner of Rikki. “So when you see queer, female, and non-binary representations in mainstream media, as part of something as stupid and fun as reality television — it’s important.

Rikki’s: Born from a bystander

Daniel co-founded Barr with Saraya Govich, a former teammate of the San Francisco Spike LGBTQ+ soccer team. “Daniel and I really wanted somewhere to make sure we see women’s sports,” Sarah said. “We could have known wherever we went, it would turn on.

The event came a few weeks after the bar’s grand opening, so it was of special importance. “To ensure that we can hold events during Pride Week with Frameline,” added Sarah.

First impression: drama, date, the reality of strange love

Guests wore chic cocktails and drank themed drinks, and responded quickly to the new season. “Drama,” Shelby (her) and Alice (her) all said in one go. “I really believe the two couples are real,” Shelby added with a laugh.

As one guest pointed out during the screening, “If you have to go to the show and publish something, it’s kind of a difficult place. It’s important that they break up.”

When asked for date advice, Sara kept it short and powerful: “Show and keep showing up.”

Another attendee rang out in her own love life origin story. “Participate in the Queer Sports League, I met my girlfriend through gay dodgeball.

Netflix + Community = Queerjoy’s victory

With the Full House at 2223 Market St., this was not just a premiere, but a celebration of strange representatives, local businesses and selected families. As Daniel said, “It was a wonderfully packed night filled with all the drama and love and tension you’d expect. ultimate. So it was fun. ”

Catch the drama at home

Ultimate: Quirky Rab Season 2 is streaming on Netflix. New episodes will drop weekly until June:

  • Week 1 (May 24th): Episodes 1-4
  • Second week (May 31): Episodes 5-8
  • Week 3 (June 7): Episodes 9-10

So, if you’re ready to scream on the screen (again), click on the strange love confusion.
