Friday, May 16th

“Center Aging Friday Tea Time” It will be held in person at 2pm at 1827 Wiltberger St. NW’s new location at the DC Center. This is a social time for older LGBTQ+ adults. Guests are encouraged to bring their chosen drinks. For more information, please send an email [email protected].

Hosted by Go Gay DC “City’s LGBTQ+ Community Social” 7pm at Hotel Zena. This event is ideal for creating new friends, professional networking, ideas sharing, and community building. This event is free and details are available at EventBrite.

Transgender Game Night It will be held at 6pm at the DC Center of the LGBT community. This will be a relaxing, relaxing night of games and fun. Everything is welcome and you have cards and board games on hand. Feel free to share your game. For more information, please visit the DC Center Website.

Saturday, May 17th

Hosted by Go Gay DC “LGBTQ+ Community Brunch” 11am at Freddie’s Beach Bar & Restaurant. This fun weekly event brings together the DMV area LGBTQ+ community, including allies, for delicious food and conversation. Attendees are free and detailed EventBrite.

People from LGBTQ Color Support Group Zoom will take you to 7pm. This peer support group is an outlet for LGBTQ people of color to come together to talk about what’s impacting in a space where they strive to be safe and judged. There are all kinds of activities, including watching movies, poetry events, storytelling, spending time with others. Sunday, May 18th

Hosted by Go Gay DC “LGBTQ+ Pride Kickoff Fan Day Social” 4pm on Moxy. This event is ideal for creating meaningful new connections and informal community building. Or just to relax and enjoy the group’s happy hour. Great people from all over the world are expected and nametags are offered. This event is free to attend and details are available at EventBrite.

The art with Tosca hosts “Queri Icons & Trail Blazers: World Pride DC 2025 Art Tour” At 2pm at the Smithsonian Museum of American Art. This will be an unforgettable quest for LGBTQ+ history, identity and artistic expression at the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the National Portrait Gallery. Celebrating the vibrant history and culture of the LGBTQ+ community through engaging portraits and groundbreaking works that highlight the power of queer artistry. Tickets can be purchased for $48 EventBrite.

Monday, May 19th

“Center Aging Monday Coffee & Conversation” Zoom in to 10am. This is a social time for older LGBTQ+ adults. Guests are encouraged to bring their chosen drinks. For more information, please send an email [email protected].

“Pickett, Protest, Parade Exhibition Tour” It’s 7pm at Freedom Plaza. The exhibition celebrates the courage, resistance and resilience of the DC LGBTQ+ community. Tickets start at $10 and are available at EventBrite.

Tuesday, May 20th

Center BI+ Roundtable Discussion Zoom will take you to 7pm. This is an opportunity for people to come together to discuss issues related to bisexuality and as individuals in BI in private settings. For more information, please see Facebook or Meet up.

Wednesday, May 21st

Job Club Zoom will take 6pm. This is a weekly employment support program to help employment participants and seekers, including long-term unemployed, improve their confidence, motivation, resilience and productivity for effective job search and networking, allowing participants to simply move away from becoming “applicants” towards “candidates.” For more information, please send an email [email protected] Or visit thedcenter.org/careers.

Center aging Women’s Social and Discussion Groups Zoom will take 6pm. This group is a place where older LGBTQ+ women can meet and socialize with each other. We have discussions, activities and opportunities for you to share what you include in future events. For more information, please send an email [email protected].

Thursday, May 22nd

DC Center Fresh produce program It will be held all day at the DC Center of the LGBT community. People will be notified at 5pm on Wednesday if they are chosen to receive a box of produce. No evidence of residence or income is required. For more information, please send an email [email protected] Alternatively, call 202-682-2245.

Virtual yoga with Sara M Zoom will take you to 7pm. This is a free weekly class focusing on yoga, breathing and meditation. For more information, please visit the DC Center of the LGBT Community Website.

DC Anti-Violence Project The open meeting will be held at 7pm on Zoom. These are open meetings and I would like to see people who are more interested in learning and reducing violence, focusing on both the LGBT community and on the LGBT community.
