Awards season is here with the announcement of the 2025 Golden Globe Awards earlier this week. The announcement will air on January 5th on CBS and stream on Paramount+. I’m overjoyed to see several LGBTQ actors nominated.
transqueer actress Carla Sofia Gascón She was nominated for Best Female Actor in a Musical or Comedy for her role in the musical Emilia Perez, and became the first trans woman to be nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture.
This gripping film, which tells the story of a trans woman-turned-cartel leader, won the Globe Award for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Acting (Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña), and Best Director for Jacques Audiard.
