Pope Francis has written an open letter to the US bishops who have been heavily criticising the anti-immigrant stances made by President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance since the former was launched on January 20th.
In the letter, it appears that he is directly aiming to defend Vice President JD Vance. Current anti-immigrant repression of theological groundsthe pope condemned the Trump administration’s plans for massive deportation of immigrants, saying it would take away their inherent dignity and “ends badly.”
The letter sparks enormous protests against Ice (immigration and customs enforcement) and Donald Trump. This took place in Los Angeles on February 2nd in response to Trump’s crackdown on immigrants. It removed military presence on the US-Mexico border and restrictions previously received by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Under the new order, ICE is currently permitted to target immigrants at previously designated “safe shelters” locations such as schools and churches for arrest and deportation.
Catholic JD Vance justified crackdown on the medieval Catholic concept known as “Oldor Morris” (“Oldor Morris” meaning “order of love”; family first followed by neighbors, then community, Next are fellow citizens, and finally people from other lands.
“Christian love is not a concentric expansion of interest.”
However, the Pope appears to have no time for this defense, and in his letter he writes:
“The true Ordo Amoris who must be promoted is meditating constantly in the parable of the “good Samaritan” – by meditating on love that builds open fraternity to all without exception, It’s something they discovered. ”

The Associated Press reported that David Gibson, director of the Centre for Religious Culture at Fordham University, said in a social media post that Francis’ letter aimed at all absurd theological claims by JD Vance and his allies in conservative Catholicism. He reports that he has said he has been (his allies (and Catholic voters) in conservative Catholicism.”
Trump Vance’s policy, which recently fired fire from the Vatican, is not anti-immigrant crackdown.
Vatican Charities, Monday (February 10th) Caritas International – The coalition of 162 national Catholic relief, development and social services organizations operating in more than 200 countries, “reckless” decision to “recklessly” halt funding to US international development agencies It warned that millions of people could die as a result of the US (USAID).
USAID is the world’s largest food aid provider. The entire website At the time of writing, it is offline. Trump has previously been “A bunch of radical madmen.”
The Pope is also not the only faith leader to publicly take Donald Trump and J.D. Vance. On Tuesday, January 21st, Bishop Marian Edgar Budde spoke during Trump’s first prayer service at Washington National Cathedral, appealing to minority groups to show mercy.

President Trump was present and watched the sermon with First Lady Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance and Second Lady Ushavance.
“In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy to the people of our nation, who are now scared of you,” Badde said.
“They are democratic, Republicans, gay, lesbian, and transgender children from independent families, and some fear their lives,” she continued.
She was subsequently suffered death threats from Magazine supporters.
Does the Pope support LGBTQ+ rights?

Pope Francis is very clear about his attitude regarding refugees and immigration, and is a central focus of his Pope, citing the biblical command to “welcome strangers.” However, his stance on LGBTQ+ rights is much more complicated, controversial and conflicting.
Last May, Pope Francis is said to have used the homophobic slur in a meeting with the bishop about allowing single gay men to train as priests.
At the closed door meeting, the Pope is believed to have said that there are already too many “Frosiagins” in the seminary. The Vatican has issued an apology claiming that the Pope is a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community.
He was more positive about gay priests in 2013. [gay priests] I accept the Lord and have good intentions, who do I judge? They should not be alienated. tendency [same-sex attraction] It’s not a problem… they’re our brothers. ”
However, he repeated his support for the universal catechism of the Catholic Church.
He also made positive gestures towards trans rights. In 2023, he said trans people could participate in Catholic practices such as being baptized and acting as godparents and witnesses in marriage under the same conditions as other adults.
In the past, Pope Francis welcomed trans women along with 1,000 poor homeless guests, had lunch at the Vatican, and commemorated the Catholic Church’s World Day.
He also met the Vatican trans group in 2022. Sisters Genevieve Janningross and local priest Andrea Conocchia reportedly the meeting gave hope to the group.
Unfortunately, and confused, the Pope reveals that he is a fan of gender binary. It describes so-called gender ideology as one of the “most dangerous colonizations.” The same, all boring, like everything”, “Because it obscures differences and the values of men and women; [it] It’s against human occupation. ”
In short, it seems unlikely that he would write a similar letter immediately criticizing Donald Trump’s anti-trance crackdown.
