Orville Peck and the Wiggles collaborated for LGBTQ+ Anthem’s “Dorothy Friends” (The Wiggles – Kids Songs and Nursery Rhymes/YouTube).

Gay country singer Orville Peck is collaborating with the hit “Friends of Dorothy,” a popular child character, “The Wiggles for New Smash.”

Country singer Peck, who frustrated the internet last June by filming a small Orville with a paper nude cover shoot, will be appearing in the songs on the Wiggles’ new country album. It’s slurping, awkward.

Released on March 7th, the song is a homage to the group’s friends and pays homage to the character of the dinosaur Dorothy character, but it nods to support the LGBTQ+ community through the phrase “Dorothy’s friend.”

“We are Dorothy’s friends /We are Dot’s friends /If you are Dorothy’s friends, you are my friends,” Peck and Australian child characters sing in the Banger.

And it’s calm for those who are bubbly in their mouths that the shaking is doing something “gay.” There’s nothing explicitly LGBTQ+ on the song, except for mild slang like “The Tea Is the Tea” and “You Are Fierce.”

The term “Dorothy’s friend” is a phrase that has long been used by the queer community to identify each other, and is more common in times of persecution when homosexuality was persecuted.

The most widely accepted origin of the phrase comes from the depiction of Dorothy The Wizard of Oz Gay icon Judy Garland. Being a Dorothy’s “friend” or a fan of Garland became a coded way for LGBTQ+ individuals to identify each other in the mid-20th century.

Also, Peck recently dropped his trademark mask in his first look at the rehearsal. cabaret At the Kit KAT Club – This too happens to be his Broadway debut.

Kit Cat Club Cabaret It will be held at the Wilson Theatre in New York in August, with Peck’s first performance scheduled for March 21st.
