9-1-1 Oliver Stark said that Buck’s bisexuality would be further explored in the ninth season “to educate the audience.”
The British actor stars as Evan ‘Buck’ Buckley in the ABC/Hulu show about Los Angeles first responders, which was rebroadcast on Thursday (October 9). Ryan Guzman plays Eddie, and many fans would love to see him end up with Buck.
Stark previously hinted that the duo could be seen more in the latest season, but revealed that Buck’s bisexuality would be explored in season 9 to dispel the “ignorance” surrounding the characters.
talk to American weekly magazine, He said: “I think there was some ignorance in people thinking that Buck was now gay, because ever since Buck came out, we’ve seen him with Tommy, and that’s it.
“And it’s not like he has to run off and be with a woman now just to balance things out. We just need conversations that help educate the audience. Not in a heavy way, not hitting someone over the head with it, but digging deeper into it.”
“I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t use the word bisexual.”
The 34-year-old said he hopes Buck will be educated from the “actions” and “conversations” he has with himself, adding he is confident. 9-1-1 He plans to do everything he can to “try to emphasize that more” as the season progresses.
He said Buck won’t be “actively trying to date someone” for the foreseeable future, but will “find himself in some situations” even though romantic acts “actively pursuing something” are out of the question for now.
Stark revealed that Buck may be ready to use the word bisexual in the latest season.
“I don’t see any reason why he wouldn’t use the word bisexual, but he’s certainly talking about his bisexuality. I don’t know if he’ll use that word, but he’s definitely been very honest and open about the fact that he’s attracted to multiple genders in future episodes.”

When asked on On the Red Carpet what direction Buddy’s relationship will take on the show, Guzman replied:
“I think they’ve attached their own story to Buck and Eddie,” he said of the show’s fans. “We love love. You never know what’s going to happen to these characters. I love their relationship and what they’re already communicating. The fact that they’re so supportive of each other and that they’re able to grow in front of each other without judgment.”
“It’s great to be able to show it on TV now,” he concluded.
