Nottingham Against Transphobia hold die-in in city centre

Trans Group held a Dyin in Nottingham city centre to demand justice from the Labor Government and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), demonstrating the public what trans people are currently facing.

The protest occurred after a leaked version of the EHRC final guidance – The era – Reportedly urges service providers to ban trans people in all unitary facilities and services, including changing rooms, hospital wards and sports competitions.

In a statement provided to Pinknake prior to Dyin, the organizers said:

“Therefore, a dy-in to show the reality we live in to the public. “Dignity” is promised on television, and policies that allow for quarantine and abuse are normalized by law. ”

The statement continued: “We are disappointed that local lawmakers Alex Norris and Lillian Greenwood remain silent about the direction and harm of the EHRC set by Kiel Starmer and Wes Street.

“Daily, trans people are exiled, embarrassed, harassed and assaulted for simply living our lives. 48% of trans adults have attempted suicide at least once, Belarus and Turkey.

“The average Britt has absolutely no realisation of how bad things have become.”

The group said the demonstration was “deliberately mild and nonconfrontational,” adding that there were discussion-trained marshals throughout the event, and that “people who wear body-covered cameras to stop the aggravators and document hate crimes and cases of violence.”

“We experienced harassment and violence at previous events. We are not going to stop us in preparation for this. Our priorities are everyone’s safety,” Nottingham said of transphobia.

“We also want to acknowledge the allyship of the alliance that Nadia Whitme has shown to our community.

“Today we are calling on her and her colleagues Alex Norris and Lillian Greenwood to publicly condemn the laws of oppression and hatred of EHRC, Kiel Starmer and Wes Street.

“We ask them to clearly assert that trans people have the right to fully and safely participate in public life in Nottingham.

Speaking to Pinknews in the protest, Anna, Nottingham’s longest-serving leader in transphobia, said the group wanted to hold the demonstration as a “quick response” to leaking EHRC guidance.

“Up to this point they were pretending it was for safety, but when that was the case [about] There are no trans women in the male space, so they are just trying to get us out of society. It’s exactly the same as the Nazis did years ago,” she said.

Anna said it was “scary” to see Britain repeating the past, “improving trans people just as bad as the Nazis” and “pushing trans people out of society like the Nazis.”

“Where will it end?” she asked.

“It’s always a glove for power. It’s always a fascism,” Anna added. “I’d assert that I’m the only person who can create a villain and stop it. That’s the same thing we’ve seen.
