At the world premiere, stranger things 5 On Thursday night, the cast gathered in Los Angeles to celebrate the epic conclusion to the series that has dominated pop culture for the past decade. The night was filled with nostalgia, neon, and queer energy, as the final season may be the gayest yet, according to the cast.
For those who need a refresher, stranger things is a science fiction horror drama set in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana in the 1980s. There, a government experiment opens a portal to a terrifying alternate dimension known as the Upside Down. When young Will Byers mysteriously disappears, his friends and family discover supernatural powers, a secret laboratory, and a mysterious girl with telekinetic powers known only as Eleven. Throughout the season, the group has faced monsters, intrigue, and heartbreak, all while maintaining a bond that keeps them grounded amidst the chaos.

But fans can also expect something more this season. It’s a celebration of queerness woven into Hawkins’ heart. Gatey met the cast on the red carpet and asked them how gay the final season would be.
“Gay is a very positive word, so it’s probably the gayest word ever,” Schnapp said.
On a scale of 1 to 10, amy beth mcnultywho plays Robin (Hawke)’s girlfriend Vicky, gave it a confident 6. “I’m trying to stay calm. I might be lying,” she teased. But are there any gay scenes you’re looking forward to? “Yes, absolutely,” she continued. “I love gay people. I would never love them!”

And his final verdict? “I think it’s 10. But it should be 20.”

Volume 1 (Episodes 1-4) will be available on November 26th, Volume 2 (Episodes 5-7) will be available on Christmas Day, and the epic finale (Episode 8) will be available on New Year’s Eve. All episodes start at 5pm PT, just in time for Hawkins to usher in the strangest new year we’ve ever seen.
