Michigan Republican leaders have introduced a bill banning all online pornography in the state, including material depicting “biology and gender breakdowns.”

Internet providers and other commercial companies are subject to civil penalties, consisting of a $500,000 fine.
Internet service providers should also block access to porn within Michigan and update content moderation policies and tools to prevent access to this material. And the Michigan Attorney General must establish a special department to enforce the law.
Schriver, the bill’s lead sponsor, has five Republicans: Joseph Pavlov, Matt Maddock, James Desana, Joseph Fox and Jennifer Waltz.
The Michigan home has a Republican majority, but the Senate is controlled by Democrats and Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is a Democrat, so there’s little chance that it will become legislation on the bill.
