Megyn Kelly Blasts Taylor Swift’s Kamala Endorsement

The “Fortnite” singer stated that she researched the country’s issues, proposed policies, and plans, and encouraged voters to register, especially those who are voting for the first time. This seems like a legitimate statement from a public figure, doesn’t it?

Well, Meghan wasn’t exactly thrilled with the endorsement, and to be honest, her reaction was a little worrying.

“You’re allowed to criticize Taylor Swift and I don’t care who gets upset,” Meghan said. “It’s horrible. If you want to vote for Harris-Waltz, go ahead and vote for her all you want, but to say you’re doing it because of Tim Waltz’s stance on LGBTQ people?”

“Fuck Taylor Swift. And fuck everyone who wants to see these kids have their body parts removed, get sterilized before the age of consent, and then go and buy themselves a trillion-dollar mansion and never think about them again,” she said.

Additionally, Walz’s support for LGBTQ+ people extends to anti-bullying efforts, LGBTQ+ marriage, book bans, conversion therapy, and other deeply harmful government policies that affect LGBTQ+ citizens.

But Meghan didn’t stop there: her on-camera rant also included criticism of Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelsey.

“These two people, Taylor and her boyfriend Travis Kelsey, are the epitome of elite snobbism,” Meghan said. “They both have enormous wealth. She doesn’t care what happens to these kids, just as he doesn’t care what happens to the young people who get the Pfizer vaccine that he’s promoting.”

“They’ll be sitting in their mansions in Rhode Island and California and New York and flying all over the world saying, ‘Let them eat cake,'” Meghan continued, “because they’re so immersed in their own hypocrisy, so obsessed with their money and their concerts and their football games, they never think about the people they’ve hurt.”

Look, I’m not a Swift fan by any means. My favorite album is probably Folkloreprobably because it reminds me of the hipster neighborhood in L.A. where I live. But I think Megyn Kelly giving a five-minute audition for a new MCU villain while criticizing Taylor’s endorsement went too far.

By definition, most politicians, especially former President Donald Trump, are wealthy public figures or celebrities in their own right, so to discredit someone like Taylor solely on the basis of her wealth and status excludes everyone, including Meghan, from these conversations.

Sure, these calculated outbursts and debunked theories may be born out of a desire for attention or an attempt to resuscitate a journalistic career, but for many LGBTQ+ people, the harmful rhetoric is exhausting, threatening our freedom and existence.

Before we criticize pop stars and football players, perhaps we should be more concerned about political candidates who are so obsessed with their money, their rallies and their golf games that they don’t think about the people they hurt.
