Pop culture fans know Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers as a podcast duo. Las CulturistasIn , we interview celebrities and analyze everything from what’s going on in the entertainment industry to politics with zero filter. But in the latest episode, they sparked a completely different kind of conversation.recent podcasttheir “I don’t think so, honey” segment transitioned into a broader conversation about politics and reflecting on past choices. Yang said he now regrets supporting Hillary Clinton so strongly in 2016. Meanwhile, Rodgers said he had no regrets, explaining that he was focused on defeating Donald Trump at the time, but felt his goal was made more difficult by what he described as “misogynistic” behavior from some Bernie Sanders supporters.Rogers also said he doesn’t think Gavin Newsom will be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028, saying, “I’m done with it when politicians make statements that are too obvious about themselves.” He quickly continued, “And don’t waste your money by sending it to Jasmine Crockett. Don’t do that. It’ll be a waste of money.” Yang seconded that.He went on to say that he personally had nothing against Crockett. What he meant, he explained, was that if Democrats want to win in places like Texas and at the national level going forward, they may need candidates who feel “undefined” in the minds of voters. Rogers then singled out James Talarico, who is also running for the Senate, and described him as “an up-and-coming Democratic politician from a place like Texas who certainly has a slightly more centrist voice, but at least he’s someone you can’t define yet.” He also added that he thinks Newsom and Crockett are already too defined.Rodgers explained why he felt that way, and people online thought:“When Matt Rogers said this and Bowen agreed, I couldn’t believe my ears.”“Damn!!! I kinda liked that podcast (ok during the mean interviews). And that Bowen co-sign?!?! Oh my god!?! I’m so disappointed…wow!”“They deserved all this drag. So who is Matt Rogers???”“Texas has the largest black population and the most registered black voters in the country. In 2024, Congressman Crockett crisscrossed the country supporting other candidates at his own expense, while the clowns perfected the art of staying home and doing nothing.”“Bowen Yang doesn’t even know who FXCK’s James Talarico is and I don’t even know who FXCK’s Matt Rogers is, but neither of these hoes live in Texas. Bowen limited his comments on Instagram because he knew better. Check your voter registration first. FXCK, shut up.”“One of the reasons we’re both sitting cross-legged and making money is because of the work of so many black women and men who fought for civil rights for all of us. If we thought that way (she won’t win), we wouldn’t have LGBTQ rights today. They wouldn’t even live in Texas… hmmm.”“This is exactly what people did to Kamala. Look at this country now! 😒”“Last time you wanted someone ‘less defined’ you chose Trump. Shut up. 🤫”
