Donald Trump’s so-called Military Paradeto celebrate the 250th anniversary of the US Army, this is nothing more than a thinly veiled birthday bash for Trump. For him, military power is not sacred trust. No, there’s nothing like trust in Trump’s mind or vocabulary. Instead, it’s a personal accessory and a dominant tool.

The fact that the US military is dragged into this theatre is an insult to not only everyone who has worn uniforms, but also to the principles they have pledged to protect. This is not a show of strength. It’s not even nearby. It is a demonstration of democratic betrayal.
These are the people who sent mobs to Capitol to hunt Nancy Pelosi with Mike Pence. These are people who smeared shit on the walls of the Senate who beat police officers with flagpole that evoked the name of Jesus while secing our democratic hearts.
And now they smile and wave as they march by their side at Rockstep. This isn’t just offensive. That’s dangerous.
Rather than honoring America, it will be a performance choreographed to distort it. And be authentic and honest. Perhaps many of the soldiers in that parade are not comfortable to participate. They march not for pride, not for politics, but for loyalty to the dictatorship.
