Lucy Dacus of the queer band Boygenius appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and declared, “Fuck the nation,” after marrying four more couples during the show.
On Monday (October 13), Dacus took to Instagram to thank the couples he married as part of his tour. She performed her heavenly song “Best Guess” for several newlyweds on Kimmel’s show.
Midway through his appearance, Dacus traded his guitar for a ceremonial book to marry the four couples on stage. All four declare “I do.”
Lucy Dacus has long used her platform for LGBTQ+ activism. This adorable exchange of vows became a recurring highlight throughout Dacus’ tour. She has officiated 154 weddings during her “Forever Is a Feeling Tour.”
In the wake of growing concerns that marriage equality would be reversed under President Donald Trump, Dacus offered fans another way to say “I do.”
As an official wedding officiant, Dacus was allowed to officiate weddings from stages in various cities in the United States.

Dacus posted on Instagram announcing the end of the tour, sharing:
“But honestly, it’s such an honor to have a wedding like this. I can’t believe so many of you were willing to share your big day with others. I hope each of you never has a bad day for the rest of your life.”
“And damn the states that continually toy with the idea of repealing marriage equality,” Dacus also wrote.
“Although it wasn’t a prerequisite, 120 of those marriages were between same-sex couples. Many made this decision because they didn’t know how long they would have the chance, or because their families weren’t supportive and they didn’t plan to have a ceremony.”
He added: “I don’t know what else to say other than I hope you find love in your heart. Everyone has the right to choose their own family.”
