90s icons Coyote Ugly Star LeAnn Rimes to be a judge The Voice UK On the show, he is often seen unable to contain his emotions.

At the show’s recent announcement event, Rimes said she had a hard time holding back tears, especially while filming the blind auditions.

In fact, crying may be a good thing for the contestants. [my chair]Things can get really emotional on set.”

In a recent episode The Voice UK (September 7), she was moved to tears by the performance of one of the contestants.

Deb Olah, a 28-year-old prospect, clearly impressed Coach Rhimes as she made a quick turn for Olah at the buzzer.

After Olah’s performance, Rimes said, “I cried! I was moved to tears! It was beautiful. Your voice is so amazing, it really brought me to tears. I love that you chose that song. The power and the feeling. It really moved me.”

Ola is a mother of two children. During her audition, she chose to sing “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” by Lauryn Hill and Tanya Brant..

As Rimes was currently the “only woman” on the judging panel, she appealed to Ola’s sense of “girl power” and invited her to join her team. The other judges also tried to recruit her to theirs, but Ola ultimately chose Rimes’ team.

The singer explained that her reason for taking on the series this year was because she felt that previous reality TV shows had made people “look back too much” and that she wanted to “offer creative criticism” rather than “shatter people’s hopes and dreams”.

Rimes has repeatedly advocated for the LGBTQ+ community. In 2011, Rhymes said: She has a gay uncle who inspired her to speak out on LGBTQ+ issues after she became famous.

She said: “I believe in equality. Everyone should be treated exactly the same, regardless of race or sexual orientation. I’ve learned from everything I’ve been through and from working in this industry for so many years and being criticised since I was 13. The biggest lesson in life is not to judge other people. You’ve never been in someone else’s shoes, you don’t know where they’re coming from, you don’t know their story.”

Rimes’ uncle, with whom she was very close, died of AIDS when she was 11, just two years before she rose to fame with the album “The 1990.” BlueHer “early experience” of meeting someone in the LGBTQ+ community and mourning their death left her wanting to “get more involved.”

Rhimes has a large LGBTQ+ fan base, especially Coyote Ugly And the release of the song “Can’t Fight The Moonlight.” She has friends in the country music genre (historically dominated by white, cis, heterosexual people) who are “gay but not out,” and she wanted to help them and honor her uncle’s memory.

“I’ve always wanted to give a voice to people who felt like they didn’t have a voice at the time, and I especially wanted to give a voice to my uncle, because he was from the South and he wasn’t fully accepted and he was very alone. That was very sad to me. I always wanted to give a voice to him.” Rhimes told Gay Times in 2023..

Recently, Rhymes and friends The Voice UK Coach Tom Jones told PinkNews: The Voice UK It’s a great format for underrepresented groups, such as queer and disabled performers, as they are judged solely on their talent and not their appearance.

“One of the things about this show is we really listen to the talent, it’s not about image, and that’s what attracted me to it,” he said. [the] The show is because we live in a world where image is everything. [while] “Talent is way down the list. We don’t care what you look like, we just want you to impress us,” she said.

“And then, when we turn around, sometimes we’re surprised. [because] “A lot of times the voice doesn’t really match the person. That’s what’s great about this show. Everyone is welcome. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you look like.”

She added: The Voice UK It embraces people being themselves and doesn’t treat LGBTQ+ performers as a “joke” that has limited the success of those artists like so many other talent competitions in recent years.
