Jonathan Bennett doesn’t want his Mean Girls character to be gay

mean girls OG’s Jonathan Bennett said he would love to reprise his role, but that doesn’t mean his character has to be queer.

Currently appearing on I’ve never said it before On a podcast, the gay actor said that Aaron Samuels will be straight in the sequel. In the 2004 film, Aaron was the love interest of Cady Heron, played by Lindsay Lohan, and Regina George (Rachel McAdams).

A few years after the film was released, all the male leads came out publicly as gay. Bennett played the role in 2017, three years after Daniel Franzese, who played “too gay to function” Damian. Then in 2018, Rajiv Surendra’s turn came.

“We’re not going to change Aaron Samuels’ story because Jonathan Bennett is gay, so I think Aaron will be straight,” the actor said. “Leave the Aaron Samuels story as it is, because that is the story.”

He added that his desire to return for a sequel was shared by “99 percent of the cast.”

“I don’t want to change the Aaron Samuels story.”

“I don’t think there was any real conversation between us as far as I can remember. But in a group chat, we said, “Do you want to do that? Yes. But we made that movie 22 years ago, so…everyone grows up.”

“We were kids when we were shooting this movie. Then you grow up and get your own life. We want to get the band back together. That’s way more than my paycheck. That would be awesome.” [writer] Tina Fey’s question. ”

Bennett teased his thoughts on his character’s future, saying that Aaron would have become a teacher.

“Why don’t we do a movie that everyone wants? Everyone comes back and I’m a school teacher and the girls are grown up.” [and] They have children of their own and their daughters are now in school. That’s the story. It’s not rocket science. ”

New since the original movie version of mean girls has been released. In last year’s musical film, which also starred Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice and Avantika, Aaron’s torch was A beautiful summer Star Christopher Blaney.
