Actress Jamie Lee Curtis celebrates her 40th wedding anniversary and pays tribute to her husband and daughters.
Post Last week (December 18th) on InstagramCurtis writes: “Forty years ago today, at 4:30 p.m. on a rainy Tuesday, Christopher [Guest] And I got married. We loved each other but hardly knew each other. We still know each other very well and we still love each other. ”
Curtis and comedy director Guest met and married in 1984. They have two daughters, Annie and Ruby, one of whom is transgender.
“We have been through a lot, raised and loved two beautiful daughters, started many new careers, and weathered countless storms of love and loss in our lives.”
“We walked back down the aisle that day holding hands, and we still do today. I guess that’s the beginning of ‘my hand in yours.’ It’s been a long and winding road,” Curtis continued.
Curtis said she and Guest are “polar opposites” and that’s one reason their partnership has been successful. Early this month, Curtis said today, even after 40 years.Guest still “makes me laugh more than anyone else.”
“And I think there’s definitely something about him that he likes. I don’t know what it is, but there’s definitely something,” Curtis joked.
Their daughter Ruby came out as transgender in 2020, and both Curtis and Guest have been very supportive.
With permission, Curtis shared Ruby’s evolution publicly, and previously said that he and his guests had “watched with amazement and pride as our son became our daughter Ruby.”
Curtis also said that “parenthood is about love” and that “I will fight for my right to exist against those who say I don’t exist.”
in Interview with PeopleRuby said that although she was a bit “scary” coming out to her parents, she was “not worried” about their reaction as they had always been “very accepting”.
