Dana and Shelley’s intimate Australian wedding included DIY decorations and flowers. With gorgeous ocean views, the celebration was filled with endless joy, along with friends and family who traveled widely from afar to be there.

Couples’ advice for other LGBTQ+ people planning a wedding: Relax.

“Enjoy the planning process together,” they say. “Select some areas that are most important to you both and make them big ticket purchases (music, food, photographers).”

“Set a budget and stick to it. It’s very easy to pick up things you don’t need. Above all, you can check in with each other along the way to make sure you’re both happy with the decision. Please! Communication is important. Don’t sweat on small things and don’t split the work based on each person’s strong suit.”
