Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott keep it unfiltered

Levy and Sennott approached the Q&A more like a conversation between collaborators who found the material interesting than a formal panel discussion. That tone carried over when we talked about building a show that wasn’t about sophisticated hero arcs.

Mr. Levy is known for his research on: Schitt’s Creekhere stepping into multiple roles: creator, showrunner, and star. But in Max & Helen’s, he seemed most invested in talking about his failures as a storytelling engine. Sennott matched that energy, leaning into the absurdity that characterizes the series.

The pair avoided over-explaining the plot, instead hinting at a world where bad decisions lead to far bigger consequences than intended. The room responded in kind and laughter broke out easily and often.
