Wildfires in Los Angeles continue to impact thousands of residents, cause evacuations and evacuations of families and pets, and create hazardous air quality. If you’re looking for a way to help or need assistance, we’ve got the latest resources and tips to help you stay safe and support relief efforts.

Donation destination

  • Los Angeles Fire Protection Foundation (LAFDF): Help provide first responders with critical equipment such as fire shelters and hydration supplies. Please donate at supportruffed.org.
  • California Community Foundation Wildfire Relief Fund: Supporting the long-term recovery efforts of those affected. visit calfund.org To contribute.
  • baby 2 baby: Provide essential items such as diapers, wipes, and clothing to children affected by the fire. visit baby2baby.org To donate.
  • Best Friends Animal Association: Pet sanctuaries are working to help wild animals and pets affected by the fires. visit bestfriends.org To donate.

volunteer opportunities

  • American Red Cross Los Angeles: The Red Cross is actively recruiting volunteers for disaster relief, shelter operations, and mental health support. Please sign up at redcross.org/volunteer.
  • Pasadena Humane Society: We care for pets and help reunite evacuated pets with their families. Volunteer opportunities include assisting with shelters and caring for pets. For more information, pasadenahuman.org.

Donation activities

  • Los Feliz Flea Donation Drop Off and Volunteer Event: This Saturday, January 18th from 11am to 5pm at Vintageland (1030 Alpine St., Los Angeles). Donations support the Pasadena Humane Society and Flintridge Retreat Center. Vendor fees benefit the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles. Learn more here vintage landra.

Mobility support

  • Free rides on LA Metro: LA Metro has suspended fare collection on all buses and trains to assist individuals affected by the wildfires. Free rides will be available on all routes to help residents safely evacuate or move to shelters.

pet shelter and animal assistance

  • SPCA LA: Provide emergency shelter and medical care for evacuated pets. visit spcala.com Learn how to help or adopt a pet in need.
  • Pasadena Humane Society: Donations of pet food, boxes and leashes are being accepted on-site to help animals affected by the fires.

Wildfire safety tips

  • stay indoors: Keep windows and doors closed and avoid outdoor activities to reduce smoke exposure.
  • Use an N95 mask: If you need to go outside, wear an N95 mask to filter out harmful particles.
  • prepare an emergency kit: Includes water, non-perishable food, medicine, important documents, and pet supplies.
  • Please follow evacuation instructions: Check local alerts for the latest information and have a plan with multiple evacuation routes.
