Hilary Knight, a member of the U.S. women’s ice hockey team that won a gold medal at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics, completed her final Olympic Games with laudable success.
Knight, who is dating world record speed skater and fellow U.S. Olympian Brittany Bowe, posted an Instagram post on February 19th. video The image of her getting down on one knee and proposing in a place that looks like the Olympic village. The two are among 49 LGBTQ Olympians competing in the Milan-Cortina Games, eight of whom represent the United States.
The video shows Bow accepting the proposal and putting on her engagement ring, followed by a still image of her proudly showing off the ring. Another clip shows Knight lifting Bow off the ground as the couple embrace.
“The Olympics brought us together. This Olympics made us forever,” Knight wrote in the caption, noting that their relationship began four years ago at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Together, the couple represented the United States in nine Olympics and won seven medals during their careers. Both athletes said the 2026 Winter Olympics will be their last Olympic appearances.
According to reports out sportsthe proposal took place on the morning of Knight’s last Olympic appearance, the gold medal game between the United States and Canada. With the USA leading, Knight scored the tying goal, forcing overtime, and the USA ultimately won 2-1.

I mean, there couldn’t be a better script. Obviously, to get her another gold medal makes her so happy. To achieve that would be awesome and there literally couldn’t be a better script.”
