Creators with heated rivalry respond to criticism of their acting

fierce rivalry It’s a TV program called everyone is a hot topic right now, but not everyone can say good things about it.

During a recent episode of Deuxmoi do you In a podcast, the show’s (anonymous, I must say) host criticized the hit crab-slash-HBO Max romantic drama, claiming it had no story and bad acting.

Admittedly, these are somewhat strong words considering the show relies heavily on its two romantic leads, Connor Story and Hudson Williams. varietythe show’s creator, Jacob Tierney, responded directly to the criticism.

“If any of that were true, this show wouldn’t work,” he said. “I mean, that’s not going to happen. If the acting was bad or the story wasn’t there, no one would care about this. I think this is a show that you actually need to pay attention to. If you’re a dumb person and you’re on your phone all the time or you’re trying not to pay attention, God bless you and do whatever you want.”

“But if you want to watch it, you have to be there in the moment. This is a show where there’s a lot of communication between lines. Action is important, and watching is important. And if you’re not focused or interested, I’m going to be very honest with you.”

“I just don’t understand what kind of criticism Dumois is making about this show,” he continued. “I literally don’t even know who these people are and I don’t care what they think at all. But I understand from what I’ve read so many times that people are saying this is a show that’s not a collaborative viewing experience. You can’t use your cell phone. If you want to know what you’re doing, you have to pay attention. And if you don’t, that’s a good criticism as well, and that’s OK.

“But I think at some point, the show speaks for itself and the reaction to it speaks for itself. If they weren’t good, there’s no way they’d be on the receiving end of the attention. The Papa Bear in me obviously doesn’t like comments like this. Because I know how hard they work. I think they’re fucking amazing. But we also live in a time where everyone can have an opinion and put it out on whatever platform they have. All right, keep doing your thing, Dumois!”

Well then! That’s certainly a powerful way to give back the applause.
