Grindr, a popular dating app for gay and bisexual men, has announced its annual “Unwrapping the grinder” compiles cultural trends, sexual habits, and other statistics about its users.
Throughout 2024, Grindr users sent over 130 billion chats and “eavesdropped” on other users over 10 billion times.
Additionally, over 2 billion private photo albums were shared. And yeah, that’s a lot of dick.
In addition to compiling anonymous, aggregated profile data from user accounts, Grindr surveyed its global user base to identify preferences and trends in sex, dating, travel, and pop culture.
For example, Grindr users chose “missionary” as the most popular “sex position of the year,” followed by doggystyle, a position that allows for deeper penetration. “69” position. “Side” position. And a spoon.
“Missionary work is often looked down upon as ‘boring’ or ‘mundane,’ but this view misses the deep intimacy and intensity it can offer.
