George Santos first interview after Trump pardon

Months after George Santos was sentenced to seven years in prison for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, he is free thanks to Donald Trump.

The disgraced politician and former U.S. representative was given something of a lifeline by President Trump earlier this week (it never gets old, does it?). announced “I just signed a commutation of sentence that will release George Santos immediately,” he said.

If there’s one thing we know for sure about George, it’s that he loves attention. CNN‘s state of the union to talk about his pardon and what’s in store for him next.

“People are going to hate me,” George declared to CNN’s Dana Bash. “It doesn’t matter who gets pardoned in the future, no matter who it is. If President Trump had pardoned the cross of Jesus Christ, I’m sure there would be critics.”

“So that’s just the reality of our country,” he added, later claiming he received “an unjust seven-year prison sentence that, if you talk to anyone who seriously considers these types of cases, is in no way political.”

“I’m sorry if I’m not paying too much attention to the anger of my critics and the people, mostly on the left, who are trying to make a fuss over something like this,” George later said. fired He said in an interview before defending Trump for invoking the cuts.

“It is known that the President has plenary power to pardon and pardon, which may be extended at his will.”

Dana also asked George if he intended to pay back the victims, to which George replied, “I intend to do whatever the law requires.”

Long story short, if you’re still in line for repayment from George Santos; please stand in line.
