Not all same-sex couples in New York pull off a double proposal. Then again, not every love story begins with two strangers reaching for the same song on a Nashville jukebox.
Eric Viner and Jordan Wise were strangers riding in a Nashville honky-tonk until fate, or Fleetwood Mac, intervened.
Nashville Honky Tonk and Fleetwood Mac moments
“Just before New Year’s Eve, we met completely by chance in a lively honky-tonk in Nashville and we both started singing the same Fleetwood Mac song,” Eric said. “In that moment, it felt like the universe was gently nudging us, surrounded by music and laughter. And neither of us could have imagined that one song we shared would change our lives forever.”
That song is “Landslide” and it continues to play throughout their story. The New York City-based couple began dating on December 30, 2023. It was a fitting start for the two, who met on the eve of the new year.

How a gay couple in New York pulled off a double proposal
By May 2025, it will be ready for formal implementation. Twice.
Jordan went first. He told Eric that he was going to make a quick stop on the roof of a building in New York City to take pictures before heading to his residency party. There was no party. What awaited instead were live musicians, beautiful flowers, and most unforgettably, both families gathered to witness the moment.
Eric didn’t just want to ask Jordan the question.

From New York to Italy
“A few months later, Eric wanted Jordan to experience the magic of a proposal and declare his love in return,” Eric said. During their summer vacation in Portofino, Italy, Eric asked Jordan to spend forever with him. “It was a perfect, heartfelt moment filled with love, laughter and the joy of knowing you had found your soulmate.”
Harry Winston’s ring. Ralph Lauren Purple Label looks. It’s like the gay couple’s double proposal that makes up a New York love story: grand and simple at the same time.

A lifetime ahead
“What we love most about each other is that each other makes us feel seen, safe, and valued,” Eric said. “Together, we love how effortless our love feels, how we can laugh until our cheeks hurt, cry without fear, dream endlessly, and find joy in the smallest moments.”
As for what lies ahead, we are looking not only at milestones but also in our daily lives.
“We are most looking forward to building a life together. Waking up every day with our best friends and building a home full of love, laughter, and support,” Eric said. “We can’t wait to celebrate big milestones and cherish the quiet, ordinary moments. No matter what happens, we face it hand in hand and know that we can always choose each other.”
Eric and Jordan will celebrate their wedding on September 26, 2026. Congratulations to the happy couple! ![]()
