A Florida woman has been arrested on felony child abuse charges for allegedly slashing a young family member with a knife after she discovered a message indicating she was gay.
According to South Florida Television Station W.P.L.G.Police began investigating Gretel Reidy Guadaramas-Pena, 41, after the boy told his teacher about what happened at home on March 14, and the teacher reported the incident to authorities.
Arrest report from florida city police The boy, whose age was not released, told detectives that his brother discovered Discord messages about his sexual orientation and took his computer. The brothers then gave it to another family member and “made him stand against the wall” until Guadaramas returned home.
“one time [Guadarramas] “Upon arrival, she observed ‘gay’ content on his Discord account. She then grabbed him by the arm and led him into the kitchen,” the officer wrote in the report.
The boy told police that Guadaramas “grabbed a knife and pinned his arm against the counter,” calling for another family member to restrain his hand, according to the report. The man initially complied, but then realized she had tried to cut the child with a knife and pushed her away. The individual, who has not been publicly identified, has not been charged.
Police also allege Guadaramas cut the boy’s hair with scissors as punishment.
Police responded to the home on March 18, but Guadaramas and another family member “refused to talk” about the incident. She was later arrested and charged with felony child abuse.
March 19th, Miami-Dade County Courthouse The judge found merit in the charges against Guadaramas, who is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
