An irate customer at a Starbucks in Florida was arrested after throwing a tantrum over a Pride flag hanging on the wall.
According to police, Tucker Alden Kemp, 31, of Clearwater, entered a Starbucks in St. Petersburg around 9:16 a.m. on Oct. 22. Once inside the store, he took offense to the Pride flag and asked to speak to a manager, claiming it was offensive and should be replaced with the American flag.
When the manager refused, citing store policy, Kemp “decided to take matters into his own hands,” according to the arrestee. affidavit obtained by smoking gun.
Police said Kemp poured tea on the flag and “removed it from the wall” before throwing it in the trash, the Tampa Bay FOX affiliate reported. WTVT.

Kemp is charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief for causing an estimated $210 in damage to the wall and flag.
Kemp was reportedly booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a misdemeanor charge and released after six hours on $500 bail. Smoking gun. The paper also noted that he lives in Clearwater with his wife and daughter, is a registered Republican, and works as a sales manager for Dignity Memorial, a chain of funeral homes in the Tampa Bay area.
