Find a way to participate in the sharing economy

If you can turn back the time, will you find a way to join the sharing economy? Even if you have a home, a car, or other resources or skills, you may still be able to do so. So don’t worry, then get out of it! (Has anyone ever got a CHER reference?)

Recently, companies like Airbnb, VRBO, Uber, Lyft, CouchSurfing, Upwork, TaskRabbit, LendingClub, Meowtel, Rover, and NeighborGoods have been making it possible for people to share their resources. Products and services such as cars, money, homes, couches, clothing, business skills, technology or maintenance, design, dog walking, financial and accounting help, graphic design, and other skills can be shared with others at price. People are using resources that are not exploited by their time, possessions and knowledge to find ways to make extra money, pay off debt, pay bills, pay off holidays and pay for expensive eggs.

For homeowners, these resources can help offset the cost of home ownership and financing, or even if the bandwidth was ultimately wanted a sabbatical overseas for 3 or 6 months. Just like investing time and resources, risks must be assumed. If you are renting your car or house, there is wear. If you are lending money, there is a risk that it will not be returned. If you sell gentlely used clothing online, the item will be returned or payment will not pass. These are risks that you must consider when starting a new company. But as they say, if there is no risk, there is no reward.

The sharing economy is based on peer-to-peer transactions. There is a new emphasis on having experience, less social pressure on consumption, and accepting access to experience through online platforms. It is not uncommon for many city residents to own only one car or not to own a car for access that can be accessed through the sharing economy. A group of five can offer a vacation via a peer-to-peer network where you can stay in a luxurious setting at your favorite holiday destination for hotel costs and all meals.

When you decide to challenge your home or car offering for these types of deals, the wise tip to remember is that this is still running your business. Customer service is important. Cleanliness, prompt attention and communication are important. Budgeting, setting competitive pricing, creating memorable customer experiences, listening to constructive feedback, dining, and using customer service skills that are expected to take airline flights when they are staying at a hotel.
