The first black LGBTQ+ woman to take on the role of White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, reportedly revealed by the publisher of her new book.

Jean Pierre, a 50-year-old Queer Trail Blazer, decided to leave the party in January shortly after resigning as spokesman under the Biden administration and changing his affiliation to independence.

In a statement on Wednesday (June 4th) Jean Pierre said that after resigning, he has become a “private citizen” like millions of people “have to fight against what will come next for our country.”

“We decided that the danger we face as a country needs to be released,” she continued. “We need to exercise our ability to think creatively and plan strategically.”

Following the announcement that she is working with publisher Legacy Light, Hachet Book Group imprints; Books title Independence: Look inside the broken White House outside the party line.

The book says it describes it as “a revelational assessment of America’s broken two-party system,” but it reports that he uses Jean Pierre’s experience working for two Democratic governments and urges Americans to “vote and maintain their individuality within party boundaries.”

The book description continues. “In a country obsessed with blind loyalty to the two-party democratic system, Carine Jean Pierre, former White House press secretary for the Biden Harris administration, shares why Americans must cross party boundaries and embrace life as independents.”

It aims to become a “strength yet hopeful criticism” of the American two-party system, and Jean Pierre argues that the rise in politically independent US voters is a sign that “sculpts a political space that is more faithful to personal beliefs than party affiliations.”

Jean Pierre took over Jen Psaki in 2022, becoming the first black man and LGBTQ+ to speak on behalf of the White House, eventually resigning on January 20th following Donald Trump’s inauguration.

She first worked under Obama’s permission and joined Joe Biden’s presidential campaign in 2020, eventually moving up to ranks as senior adviser and White House press secretary.

During her time as a journalist secretary, Jean Pierre was praised for her nonsense approach to dealing with right-wing misinformation, particularly surrounding LGBTQ+ rights, including closing down “irresponsible” questions about trans athletes at a 2023 sporting event.

She was criticised near the tail end of her time as a spokesman by those who claimed she was avoiding Biden’s health.

Legacy Lit explained that future books will see readers “take readers through three weeks that Biden has abandoned his second term bid and led to the Democrat betrayal that led to his decision.

“She has ramped in recent elections and presents clear debate and provocative evidence as an insider about the importance of dismantling the torrent of disinformation and misinformation that provides passionate insights to move forward.”
