Over the past few years, 28-year-old Mulvaney has been on strange trips one after another. In 2022, she was published on the extremely popular Tiktok channel. Just a year later, she was experiencing exciting highs, including interviewing then-President Joe Biden.

All of that, and more, is and is entitled in Mulbany’s first book Paper Doll: Notes from the Slow BloomerIt was released today.
In it, Mulvaney records his life through journal entries in the first 365 “Days of Girlhood” (named the Tiktok Series and Campy Pop Single), but also writes an essay about the days leading up to the famous Bud Light incident.
In the spring of 2023, Mulbany became the number one conservative target in America for several months after drinking beer and making a promotional video. The idea of Bad Light partnering with trans women has led to a nationwide boycott of the brand, which has lost its position as a top-selling beer in America for the first time in 20 years.

Both journal entries and essays have built up the feelings, anxiety and darkest thoughts of naked Mulvaneys, but hope shines through it all.
“I think I’m an optimist to the craziest degree,” she says. “But I think my seriousness keeps me alive, and I think the reason I am is because I surround myself with people who are very optimistic.”
Her writing has an animated wit and comedy dullness similar to comedic memoir heroes like Chelsea Handler and Amy Poehler. That wit and dullness is especially useful for her when writing about the dark times of her life.
Mulvaney received a book deal within the first 200 days of Girls’ Generation, originally planning to be journal entries only. But as she calls it, when “Beergate” happened, she knew she had to include the essay as well.
“It was very cathartic and very soothing because I think I was able to share some of my relationships with the time and with the media in a way that I didn’t feel safe online and I felt very vulnerable,” she says. “And I think I just released a book that’s only relevant for these 365 days, but I don’t think it was the right thing to do. At least now, it’s not what’s happening in the world with regards to trans people.”
Mulvaney places much value on doing everything she can to help the trans community that was there for her when she transitioned (the book contains a particularly hilarious account of how she learned to push from other trans women).

Some of that can be explained in the book section where Murbany is on her trip to Ayahuasca (“I feel like I’m looking at me as this very buttoned, creaking, pretty person,” she says, “But I’m actually quite weird and eccentric.” She is said to be intended to be a mother to not only her own children, but also to a strange young man who respects her. It’s a high order for someone who comes out within five years and isn’t yet 30 years old.
She sometimes struggles to believe she is a role model, but when she thinks about her younger self, she understands that she hasn’t had many people to admire.
“If I could be that for someone, I think it would be worth 100%, and I’m honored,” she smiles. “When I first heard the term “mother” [applied to me]I said, “Oh my God, do they call me old?” But no, apparently, that’s a compliment. ”

“The people I grew up with that mother are Lady Gaga and Chris Colfer, and Fran is fine. Nurse, Charlotte York Sex and the city,” she adds. “If I become part of someone’s mother, Rorodex, please sign me up, I’m there.”
While Mulvaney embraces her role as a mother, she is also a young woman who wants to live her best life.
“I’m in my 20s. I think it’s harmful for young people to try to live an overly sophisticated aesthetic and always live,” she says. “I want them to know that they can make mistakes and that they can grow, evolve and change. So, I’ve changed over 1,000 times since my transition over the last three years. And I hope it doesn’t stop. And I hope that’s what the younger generation can take, and that they can keep changing too.”
That youthful vibrancy blends well with one mom skill Mulvaney.

While she accomplished her hair and equipped with a wardrobe Supporters Cover shoot, she manages conversations about Lady Gaga’s latest songs, Grammy Awards and trance films, schedules her appearance and content for next week, and sings and dances along with playlists that will invigorate the speakers.
As much as she loves to stay busy, she says it helps prevent her from being “lost in the dark” in times like these, Mulbany knows the value of enjoying her flowers while she has.
“I feel like I’m jumping on the next thing often, but I hope this book comes out. I hope my baby can live with the pride and joy of what makes me feel like I’m in the world,” she says. “I’m a mother with this book, honey.”
