Another week, another week drag race uk According to social media, this was the hardest thing for fans to accept yet.

Warning: This article contains spoilers drag race uk Season 7 Episode 4.

Queen Nyombela of Cameroon via London left the competition.

In episode four, Sweety Darlings!, which aired last night (October 16), the remaining 10 queens were given acting challenges inspired by Jilly Cooper and her famous blockbuster novels.

On the runway, really amazing Bubbles actress Jane Horrocks will judge the queens in costume from Ab Fab: A Night of a Thousand Sweetie Darlings at the extravagant event.

While Nyomba impressed judges Horrocks, RuPaul, Alan Carr and Michelle Visage with her cute Saffie-inspired schoolgirl look, she didn’t really stand out when it came to acting assignments.

She finished in the bottom two alongside Sylexa Diction, and after lip-syncing LGBTQ+ ally Jessie Ware’s “Pearls” (Nyomba’s shoes nearly fell apart), the soft-spoken self-proclaimed Bratz doll started in 10th place.

On some level, Nyombela knew she was going home. It was the third time she had lip-synced, and for four weeks the judges kept saying she wasn’t as good as the other queens.

“Realistically, as long as I don’t absolutely destroy it, it’s fine. [the lip-sync]the writing is on the wall,” she told PinkNews hours after being defeated.

“It’s like, even then, I can still destroy, but they might strike out three and be out.”

For some viewers, including Nyomba, that seemed to be the case. The lip sync against Silexa gave him very little airtime until his shoe broke.

“I didn’t realize it until people told me. I didn’t really appear in lip syncs until the moment I put my shoes on, and then all of a sudden I realized that now I was on camera.

“Most of the lip syncs up until then, most of my shots were me sneaking up to Sillexa’s camera… so I thought, ‘Oh, it’s interesting that you couldn’t find me before, but now you guys managed to find me…’

After attempting a knee slide, both shoes broke and she realized, “Oh, that’s it. It’s a wrap.”

Throughout all four episodes, the judges were less impressed with Nyomba’s performance, leaving more to be desired with her runway attire and personality. Before the season started, she was worried she would receive a similar reaction from fans.

“We watched the first episode and they criticized my character pretty harshly and had issues with the way I presented and things like that. I was very worried that that would seep into the story of the show, because I think the judges have the power to control the queen’s story,” she said.

“If the judges say you’re quiet and fade into the background, your fans will feel like you’re quiet and fade into the background.”

She continued, “I was worried that it would reverberate and be put in editorials and then in fan perception.”

In fact, it was quite the opposite, and the fan reaction was enthusiastic. One fan described her as “a true rising star.”

“I’m happy about that, you know? It proved to be the exact opposite, and now everyone’s like, ‘Well, I guess that’s what the judges said.'” [are] Stupid as a brick. Obviously they don’t see the vision,” said Ngombela. I’m like, “You know what?” tea. “

In episode 3, Girl Group Week, Nyomba received praise from the judges for her poetry and performance. Immediately, she was told that she was still lip-syncing in the bottom two, as everyone else was performing better.

“I’d rather be told that everything went wrong than say, ‘You were great!’ because that’s when I started feeling really depressed,” Nyomba confessed, reflecting on Week 3.

“Then you feel like you’re not up to par, you’re not up to the mark, and everyone else is just so much better than you. I was like, ‘Why am I here?’

However, Nyomba is a diva who won’t stay down for long. “I don’t like being sad. I’m not a girl who likes to wallow,” she said. Now, she feels “over the moon” and is using her newfound platform for an incredibly positive and personal cause: raising funds for the transition.

Encouraged by her friend and transgender queen Inga Locke, Nyombela gofundme This is to help with her transition costs.

“I’m not the type of girl who likes to ask for help or show vulnerability, but… [Inga] I was like, “No, darling, I think you should do it.” Like there’s no harm in doing that… There’s no harm in really asking for help,” she said.

“It’s really surreal. I pretty much accepted that it wasn’t going to happen, it wasn’t going to matter, because the economy is at its worst in history and drag isn’t the most stable career for financial security,” she said. But since launching the fund 24 hours ago, she has already raised hundreds of dollars towards the transition.

As for whether drag race uk Will fans see more of Nyomba in future seasons of the show? It depends on whether they donate to her transition fund.

“All I know is that I won’t be on the show anymore until I meet my transition goals. Like, give me Bosco’s boobs!”

drag race uk Season 7 continues on BBC iPlayer on Thursdays at 8pm BST in the UK and on WOW Presents Plus internationally.
