Who would have thought that a small town like Hawkins, Indiana would be ruined by the rise of lesbian lovers among the Demogorgons? Certainly not Will Byers. Let’s analyze the first episode of Volume 1.
Contains spoilers!
Scenes heard in “Round the Upside Down”
In Season 5, Episode 1 (the final season), the gang is scattered throughout Hawkins, trying to keep the town somewhat intact. As a refresher, last season ended with Vecna opening a giant gate to the Upside Down, killing multiple residents in the process, before he seemingly disappeared.
Robin (Maya Hawke) and Steve (Joe Keery) quit their jobs at a video store to work at a local radio station (honestly, I love how these two reinvent their resumes each season). Will (Noah Schnapp), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) are determined to survive academically. After Hopper (David Harbour) and Joyce (Winona Ryder) locate Vecna’s hideout, they help Elle (Millie Bobby Brown) prepare for the upcoming battle.
But what’s the real surprise? A quick detour to queer romance.
First Queer Kiss in the Series – Finally

While hosting a radio show, Robin casually mentions that she has a date that night. She didn’t say who, but we knew from season 4 who we were manifesting.
She then had to cancel (because Hawkins literally can’t give anyone a break), but it was revealed that she promised to make it in time for the date. vicky (Amy Beth McNulty). Gays keep winning!
after that? Kiss. But it’s more than just a lip lock. Something hot!
Will goes to visit Max at Vicki’s workplace and witnesses the two secretly getting steamy. Seeing this scene, he stumbles and drops the ramune. But more on that revelation later.
A quick review of Will Byers’ journey

Schnapp has long acknowledged the subtext that fans have sensed from the beginning: Will’s silent, painful crush on Mike Wheeler. After years of speculation, the actor confirmed what many already felt.
“It’s clear that Will has feelings for Mike this season,” he said. Variety. “They’ve been intentionally bringing that out the last few seasons.”
Schnapp added that Will’s isolation — watching his friends pair up, fit in, and move on while he hangs in the background — speaks to many queer kids trying to understand themselves. That’s why Will remains one of the most relatable characters on the show.
we love robin buckley

stranger things We may love introducing new characters, but what about Robin Buckley? It’s a necessary addition that flips the show’s DNA for the better. Fans spent all of Season 3 expecting a romance between Steve and Robin…until a confession in the bathroom at Starcourt Mall changed everything.
After Steve confesses his crush, Robin admits that her jealousy wasn’t about Steve’s popularity, but because her crush, Tammy Thompson, wouldn’t stop staring at her. he. In true Hembo fashion, Steve takes a beat before landing on the now iconic line.
“But Tammy Thompson girl”

We love casual, cool coming-out stories, especially those from mainstream, corporate behemoths. stranger things. And yes – last season we saw sparks fly between Robin and Vicki. A spark that apparently turned into a full flame.

What happens next?
If there is one stranger things I love you, it’s keeping us waiting. And scream. And wait a little longer. But one thing’s for sure: Queer love has officially reached Hawkins, and it’s felt. So good. To find out just how queer this season’s cast is, check out our interview here.
