LGBTQ+ movies queer, The film, starring Daniel Craig, is now available to watch at home in the United States.
Luca Guadagnino’s film adaptation of William S. Burroughs’ 1985 novella received praise from critics after its US release last November. The film is still showing in select theaters, but you can now watch it from home in the United States.
A24 released the film on digital platforms on Tuesday (January 14). You can bring your own or rent it. prime video, iTunes and other digital retailers.
A UK release date for the film has not yet been announced, but when it does, it will be available to watch on streaming service Mubi. queer You can also pre-order on Prime Video, DVD, and Blu-ray.
queer James Bond star Craig plays William Lee, a troubled drinker and drug addict who flees to Mexico after a drug bust.
There, he spends his days looking for men to sleep with to relieve his loneliness, but when he meets Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey), a retired U.S. Navy officer, he becomes instantly smitten.
Craig, who was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance, said he felt he couldn’t have played a gay role during his time as James Bond, and previously told PinkNews that he could relate to the complex nature of his character. However, he said he didn’t really know. What a queer person would have experienced in the 1950s, when this film is set.
He also said earlier that he didn’t feel anything. queer William is “defined” by his sexuality.
“There’s a certain kind of trust in the director and trust in the process of what you know and the recognition that this story has huge, universal themes that will hopefully appeal to everyone,” he said. Ta. varietyreflected on whether straight actors should play gay roles like his.
“The movie isn’t defined by that. I don’t really think it is. Other people see it differently, so it’s up to the person.”
