Speaking of professional sports, the World Cup will be held in the United States this summer, and this week it was revealed that two countries where homosexuality is illegal will face off in a match in Seattle that has been designated locally as a “Pride Match.”
In political news, Texas’ first LGBTQ+ lawmaker has a re-election challenger. defender‘s Trudy Ring interviews Derek Kitchen, an out gay man running for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah. Additionally, Marjorie Taylor Greene had a lot to say about Donald Trump in her first interview since announcing her plans to resign from Congress.
And in case you missed it over the weekend: The Trump administration deadnamed the official portrait of transgender former assistant secretary of health Gen. Rachel Levine as a “petty act of pettiness and bigotry.”
