Hello everyone.
Well, it’s the beginning of 2026…
🪖 LGBTQ+ politicians have generally condemned President Donald Trump’s military attack on Venezuela, an action he ordered without Congressional approval, while also noting that now-ousted Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was an oppressive leader who harmed his people. “Nicolas Maduro is a brutal and illegitimate dictator, and Venezuelans have suffered tremendously under his regime,” said Vermont Representative Becca Balint. “This does not diminish the fact that President Trump has no authority to use military force to remove the leader of another sovereign nation.”
👀 And speaking of Venezuela, George Santos, a gay former Republican congressman from New York, announced on Sunday that he plans to travel to Caracas “in the coming days to help provide aid” to Venezuelans. Well, George.
⚠️ Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has filed an extraordinary administrative action against Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly, a sitting U.S. senator, decorated Navy veteran, and former astronaut, that would allow the Pentagon to retroactively strip Kelly of his rank and reduce his military pension earned over decades of service.
