A gay couple in Washington, DC, demands justice after the assailant throws a rock out of the window and hits his head.
addamShawer–Mayhew was watching tennis on the couch around noon on Friday. The camera in his house recorded a man covering his face, decorated with rainbow flags and threw rocks through the windows to approach the house. Regarding the size of the baseball, Rock attacked Schauer.–Mayhew was on his head, and he bleed badly.
Shawer–Mayhew’s husband, Brian Schauer, was preparing for a globally scheduled outing when he heard his partner scream in pain. He hastily finds a shattered glass, his injured husband, “a lot of blood.”

The assailant, who appeared to be wearing an ankle bracelet, ran out of the house. Although his face was not visible, the couple believes that the young man is the same person who has been targeting them for the past year. Often accompanied by a young teenager, the couple said the two had previously confronted them and called them homophobic slurs.

“It’s the first time I’ve lived here in 20 years and it’s the first time I’ve been afraid of going outside,” he said. “I’m proud of who I am. I’m proud to be a gay guy, a strange guy who lives in the city I love. I’m just trying to be accepted.”
