Cracker Barrel has removed the “Pride” section of its website. This once emphasized the sponsorship of the Nashville Pride Parade chain. Visitors are currently redirected to the Culture and Attribution page.
The company argues that the change is part of a daily site update and is not a response to backlash from right-wing conservatives.
“In relation to the company’s brand work, we have recently updated the Cracker Barrel website, including adding new content and removing outdated content,” the spokesman said. Fox News Digital.
Cracker Barrel recently attempted to rebrand with a new logo and a restaurant redesign. The conservative customer base has been balked by the loss of the chain’s Americana “country store” decoration, replaced by a deleted modernist theme and the removal of an “old timer” that is an older white man leaning against the barrel of his logo.
The change sparked accusations that the cracker barrel was making because it “wakes up,” prompting the company to quickly reverse the course and restore the “old timer” to the logo. That reversal did little to quell the conservative rage.
The restaurant was under scrutiny from conservative activists like Robbie Starbuck and Chris Luffo. He has built a reputation for companies that put pressure on them to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies.
Critics also pointed out the sponsorship of the 2024 Nashville Pride Parade cracker barrel and the launch of the Pride Moon rainbow-colored rocking chair. Some people opposed the creation of a group of LGBTQ employees called the “LGBTQ+ Alliance.”
These business resource groups are now at the heart of a complaint filed in July with the Tennessee Attorney General by the right-wing legal group America First Legal. The group argues that Cracker Barrel’s DEI policy is said to create discriminatory employment practices and support minorities at the expense of white heterosexuals. The AFL further argues that such policies will betray the company’s customer base as cracker barrel customers distort conservatives.
A Cracker Barrel spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the company changed its business resource group to “a few months ago” in order to focus on corporate donations. BRGS, which is still listed on August 27th and on the company’s website, has since been removed.
