The “Protect the Dolls” T-shirt became an overnight fashion sensation, with A-listers from Pedro Pascal to Charli XCX proudly wearing the top.
Now, fashion designer Connor Ives and Mac Cosmetics have teamed up to re-release the popular “Protect the Dolls” shirt.
Ives debuted the T-shirt while taking a bow at the Fall/Winter 2025 show at London Fashion Week. Due to high demand, the T-shirts were sold and all proceeds were donated to Trans Lifeline, a peer support and crisis hotline supporting transgender people in the United States and Canada.
The new campaign reestablishes support for “dolls,” a term that informally describes trans women or trans-feminine non-binary people.
MAC will feature four “Trailblazer Dolls” in the campaign: Dominique Jackson, Josephine Dupont, Ivy Stewart, and Greene Kim.
MAC releases a limited edition collection featuring updates to the designer’s iconic shirts and new VIVA GLAM MACximal lipsticks. The release states that “100% of proceeds will go back to charities that advance transgender equality and a healthy future for all.”
Previously, the cosmetics brand collaborated with transgender icon Kim Petras on the Viva Glam campaign.
“100% of the proceeds will go back to transgender organizations.”

talk to hypeIves said the T-shirt was a very last-minute decision to make a voice at a time when transgender rights are under attack.
“We went on to raise over $600,000 for Trans Lifeline and now here we are with MAC VIVA GLAM, which is an incredible next step for us,” said Ives.
“I think it’s important for people to know that 100% of the proceeds go back to transgender organizations. It’s a conversation starter and it’s really important to educate yourself.”
Nicola Formichetti, Global Creative Director at MAC, also shared her love for the “Save the Dolls” message.
“I was a huge fan of Connor’s work and his ‘Save the Dolls’ work,” Formichetti also said.
“It really touched me and spoke to me in a very personal way and at the right time. So when I first joined MAC, I wanted our first collaboration to be something very special.
“At VIVA GLAM, 100% of the proceeds go to charity. That’s what Connor was doing. I wanted to create a bigger stage for that.” [using] With the help of VIVA GLAM, two powerhouses can work together to achieve even greater things. ”
