Christina Aguilera Replaces Grindr’s Iconic ‘Bloop’ With Her Voice

Christina Aguilera is partnering with Grindr as part of her upcoming headline set promotion, which will be held at the Portra Music Festival in San Francisco on September 20th. According to September 15th announcement From the LGBTQ app, Grindr’s new “Wingwoman” Aguilera lends her voice as a notification alert, letting users know that there is a message from a potential match.

From September 15th to 22nd, Grindr will exchange iconic “Bloop” notifications for the opening notes of Aguilera’s 1999 hit “Come On Baby (All I Want Is You)” and promote her Portra’s performance in the process.

New sounds will be automatically deployed for users, but only if you download the latest update (version 25.15.10) and enable the “Sound” toggle under notification.

“Portra, Grindle, and me? That’s a threesome I can get behind,” Aguilera said in a statement. “When it’s a festival when ‘Come Over Over’ hit, or wherever you’re celebrating, I hope things get tough! ”

in Instagram In a video promoting collaboration, Aguilera sits in a chair with three gay assistants preparing for Portola. When she hears her voice repeatedly sing “Come Over,” she asks, “Everyone, what is it?” and asks vigorously. Each assistant then abandons her to check out Grindr DM.

Looking straight at the camera, Aguilera said, “Hello, gay, are you ready to ‘come’? ” she asks shyly. and wink.

Aguilera has long been celebrated as an LGBTQ ally. Pride Month 2017″Love Letter” for Billboardshe thanked queer fans for their unwavering support and the impact they had on her career.

“Starting with my career, there was a lot of uncertainty for me about who I was and where it fits,” she wrote. “So many labels and so many of the rules of society tell me what I should be and what I should be. Even in the early years I wanted to scream out of my skin to not fit the perfect pop star mold.

“When my career moved forward and started making music that talked about my pain and struggle, there were fans who came out to me with stories that literally lifted me up,” she continued. “All of these were my LGBTQ fans. This is standing with me every day with my thick, thin, thin me. My fighter, my hero, why I love what I do.”

She also recalls fans who tattooed their faces themselves to cover their wounds from stab wounds after being harassed and targeted for inducing perseverance from his patience, just as the LGBTQ community had to overcome obstacles and attacks.

“I want you to know that you represent the daily driving voice that tells me to continue, to continue, to win every possibility and to celebrate being unique,” she writes. “Being unique doesn’t make us different from others. It makes us even more special.”
