After years of fans hoping and praying, Cher’s two-part memoir finally has a release date, and we hope it happens soon.

The legendary pop star announced she’d started writing her memoir in 2018, and it was originally set to be published in 2020. Of course, that didn’t happen, but it was second time lucky for Cher, and she’s finally got the book published. Cher: A Memoir, Part 1 November 2024.

Cher revealed the black-and-white cover of her upcoming autobiography on Instagram on Wednesday (July 24). “Please make it 10 parts,” one fan suggested, while another joked, “I pre-ordered it immediately.”

Whoopi Goldberg also commented under the post, writing, “Cher I can’t wait. So excited. Yes, read the audiobook. It will be amazing hearing your voice and feeling your vibe with every word.”

“After more than seven decades of fighting to live life on her own terms, Cher has finally detailed her true story in a two-part memoir,” Dey Street Books, an imprint of the William Morrow Group of HarperCollins publishers, said in a statement.

“With her trademark honesty and humor, Cher: A Memoir It tells the story of how this diamond in the rough took off with little plan or confidence, becoming a pioneering superstar that the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century.”

The first part will detail the “Believe” singer’s childhood, growing up and marriage to fellow singer Sonny Bono, “the extremely complicated relationship that made them both world famous but ultimately led to their separation.”

Known as Sonny and Cher, the couple married in 1964. Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour and The Sonny and Cher show. Cher filed for divorce from her former husband in 1974, and the divorce was finalized the following year.

The 78-year-old singer told viewers: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Last November, she spoke about her struggles opening up about difficult parts of her life in the book: “I totally backed away. I didn’t let in what I should have and it was uncomfortable. But I needed to let it in, so I had to go back and be a man.”

Cher: A Memoir, Part 1 Part 1 will be released on November 19th. Part 2 is scheduled to be released in spring 2025.
